Maybe.

I was going to go to the 32"s but i would need to get bigger wheels if i wanted to run the re-tread tires.

What do you recommend? I've only had a few and MTZs are the best of the very few I've tried.

well.. a lot of guys like the KM2 by BFG, but some people have run into trouble with the sidewalls not being strong enough

the most popular tire right now is probably the MTR w/ Kevlar by goodyear.

I have heard great things about the Pitbull rockers, especially for wet or muddy terrain and slick rocks.

then of course you have your interco tires- Swampers, Irock's, TSLs, LTbs, on and on and on. they have their pros and cons, I have heard that the quality control is no good, there have been members getting rotten tires that are supposedly brand new.

if you are going to DD it with a lot of freeway like I do, I am a fan of the BFG AT... you do sacrifice some offroad traction, although I haven't noticed it. however they last much longer than any of those tires, and they are much quieter, which is nice if you commute long distances like I do.

IMO the MTZ tread is not aggressive enough to be a mud tire, the sidewalls are not strong enough for the rocks, but it is a little over agressive for large amounts of street and highway driving.

so which JY is the best for getting a 23 spline NP231?...

my chain is stretched in the 242 and I have decided that after 9 days of working with no days off I can afford to build a new case...

Hey guys - How have you all been? I haven't been on the forums much lately...I've been focused on the new job and other things and haven't done much offroading this past year. I hope you all had a nice holiday season and are looking forward to a great year! What's new in the zoo?

Welcome back. A bunch of new members here but aside from that it's pretty much the normal level of fix, wheel, break, repair, upgrade, repeat.

Last I remember you were going to work for one of the SPAWAR contractors.

Hi Jeff - Good to hear from you. Yeah - my previous job was with a contractor supporting SPAWAR....now I am in a very similar position supporting NAVAIR....my client is on the east coast. I work on the P-8A program...as the liaison to my old SPAWAR client. It's a good gig....working from home most of the time.
