If anybody is in the area, I've got a fridge full of cold beer if you want to give advice or throw tools at me.
DAMN, I could have thrown tools at you and had a beer?

I would have stopped by to offer a hand or two, but alas I was up in Chico for the last 4 days visiting family I haven't seen in the better part of 2 decades.

Hopefully you got everything taken care of!

You still have a chance. I didn't do anything to it today except look at it.
I stopped at ORW to see if they had any shackle perches in stock. No, and the ones they carry are $69.
There is also an issue with the brakes. The brakes on the 88 are very different on the 95 axle I'm installing. They changed them in 90. So, I'll be dealing with that on Wednesday if you wanna' swing by. Chris and Richie will be here doing all the work while I hand them beer and tools.
Are you any good at installing an SYE? I'm pulling the t-case and throwing it on the work bench. I've never done one before. Doesn't look that hard.
AND... I need to move my Aussie to the new axle.
AND... I need to pull the rear end and prep the 8.8. I'll probably do that tomorrow.
So much to do, so much beer to consume, good times.
I'll be here all week working on it except Friday. I get to go to San Diego on Friday. Hopefully somebody down there is throwing a party or something.

What day will you be installing the SYE? If i get out early from work I would like to stop by and give you a hand. that way I can also learn a little on how to install a SYE before I do my own

I'll be honest, I know nothing of the value of these things. If you are willing to see them and offer an honest price (bcuz the money goes to getting my rig repaired and getting back into school) they are yours.

That goes for anyone on here who wants them. The one here really needs some TLC and I will get info on the other asap. If anyone wants to schedule a time to come by and see 1 or the other (if it really exists) you can PM or call me.

I'll work on the pics, probably going to ask heather tomorrow on our break from work if I can borrow her camera so hopefully pics this week!

------

I have a guy in Pomona who will replace the oil pan, gasket, RMS, and put in 2 helio coils and extract a bolt for 430$ flat. No hourly or extra fees. Everything necessary 430$ flat. My aunt offered to buy the oil pan so hopefully that lowers his price.

Well, I'll be at work most of the day Wednesday. Then I have to pick up an anniversary gift for the wife on the way home....perhaps there's a nice flower shop on your side of the freeway and I can pop by for a few!

As for the SYE, I've seen em done on TV a few times! Hell, I think I have the "Extreme 4x4" episode saved on the DVR where they do one! Does that count?

Rik - My Aussie's showing up Thursday and I was going to do the install this weekend, early Saturday or any time Sunday. Never opened a diff before but I don't anticipate any issues. It would still be nice to have someone within earshot who might know what they're doing. I'd be happy to pitch a hand with anything else you're working on. Let me know.

I am for sure working on my Jeep tomorrow (wed) and Thursday, and possibly all day of Saturday. I'm trying to get out of going to a wedding. I'm sorta' weddinged out. Better than funerals tho'.
If anybody wants to stop by you are more than welcome. You can twist wrenches on your Jeep or mine. Or, just drink beer and point at what we are doing wrong.
PM me if you don't have my address or cell number. It's supposed to be in the mid to upper seventies for the next week here. Great wrenching weather.
As for the SYE, I've never done one, but I'm about to find out how I believe.

No funerals, but we do have weddings here at our house. Well, three so far. We have a really big gazebo with a pond and waterfall etc... in the front yard, and a huge back yard for big tents with an entire lower floor of our house dedicated to parties. Wet bar, dance floor, game room, etc... Five acres of parking too. Why, you getting married soon?

OK. I don't have to go to that wedding Saturday, so wrenching party is on. I'll stock up the fridge with beer and soda and water.
For those of you that PM'd me, I'll shoot you my address and cell number. Thanks in advance for your help/advice/beer depository/abuse you will be providing on Saturday.
