I've been busy gathering steel plate & tubing and having it bent to make sets of rocker guards.
If anybody wishes to come by & see what's involved in making sets of 1-off YJ & TJ rocker guards, let me know.
Tomorrow (well, I guess I should say today since its after midnight ) I'll be firing up the compressor, plasma, chop saw, grinders and MIG welder in an effort to make a couple sets.

I pulled the trigger
Well not officially yet but hope to soon. I got my first handgun a Hi-Point 9mm. I thought its a good starter gun. I got it at Turners for 215 bucks. I know a lot of you own and shoot where is a good place to go and try it out? Somewhere maybe I can get the Jeep a little dirty

We have a wedding at our house this Saturday. There's a massive tent in my back yard, 50X80 plus a second one that is 50X30 attached to it.
I've been weed wacking, pressure washing, tractoring, fixing stuff, building stuff, and just generally working my butt off for the last couple weeks.
They are expecting 300 plus guests for this shindig. Lots of prep.
Meanwhile, my Jeep sits on jack stands gathering dust until Monday when I start ripping the axles out for the upgrades to the 8.8 etc...
I wanna' go wheeling!
Congrats on the new firearm Jason.

I sometimes go to Orosco Ridge Shooting Area in Ramona. Its in the Cleveland National Forest. You will need an Adventure Pass to park. Dont go on a week end day though. Too many yahoo's up there. Mon thu Fri in the AM you could have the place to yourself.
The second place I go to is way out in Borrego. I-8 East to the S-2. North on the S-2 appx. eight miles to Wash #102. There is a marker post labled 102 visible from the Highway. Go south in Wash #102 until you get to the split with Wash #103. Continue on Wash #103 a short distance and you will see where people stop and shoot. Make sure you check the end of Wash #103 for people, its not far beyond the shooting area.
Another place is off Painted Gorge Rd. Its out in Borrego also. North on the S-2 from I-8. East on S-80 to Painted Gorge RD. North on Painted Gorge RD. Its a dirt road that will take you to this kiosk out in the middle of nowhere. Thats where my buddies shoot.
If you go out to the desert don't be supprised to see BP out on foot patrol.
Other than that if you just want to shoot a box or two of ammo try one of the in town ranges. Project 2000 is out by you. American Shooting Center in Kearney Mesa is good.

Well, 3rd times a charm. I'm back digging around the forums yet again. This time I am actually living back in San Diego, Serra Mesa to be exact. With finances in a pickle, a huge pickle at that, atop my grandparents nearing the end of there life, school is on hold and I'm looking for work in the city.
Just to prove I actually sat down and read 90% of whats gone on here since page 1100sumtin thru 1246 (I go oldest to newest):
I read somewhere theres been over 1,000 earthquakes over the last 3 months in southern california, and those big ones you felt south of the border hit Los Angeles really hard too! I was sitting in the apartment working on a video final for class and the next thing I know the whole room is swaying every which way.
That ImMortal looks pretty intense, the guy seemed to go in circles with what he was saying though - seemed like he coulda been more prepared.
That's a mighty fine looking bumper you put together Joe!
Going back on things I never got to apologize or give much notice for having to cancel on the King of the Hammers, I don't have the email anymore but I sent one to mark (was that his name?) to let him know I had to cancel. Things took a sour turn early this year and its bubbled over until now, Im hoping some work and focus this summer can turn things around. Life is a bit difficult when you don't have parents wisdom going into it and the only support system are the 2 people who deserve help more than should give it at this point in their life (my grandparents).
On a Jeep note my rig has been out of order since december, upon discovering the metal collar at the back was broken and that the RMS was never fully changed by the PO (only half changed - the bottom) I set out on changing my dented up oil pan (with a 1976 258's but I thinkt he pick ups are different so its a risky fit) however in the process 2 bolts stripped their holes out and 1 lost its head (at the very back of all places). I've been looking for a way to fix the 2 holes, extract the 1 bolt, replace the pan, and RMS to finally get it all situated and driveable. Also my tranny fluid is disappearing and I don't know where to x.x I called EC Driveshaft and they recommended MIT for the work. $598 if they don't drop the tranny, $1,000~ if they do drop the tranny. Anyone got some college student budget recommendations :/

After a crazy couple of weeks of ups and downs, I'm happy to report that the Jeep is back in action. The changes include a 2.5" D-Cepek lift, Bilstein shocks, axle swap that brought Superior c-clip eliminator axles and a limited slip differential, a new ProComp adjustable rear track bar, some purdy new wheels, and 33x10.5 KM2s.
I'm not all that excited about the chrome caps, they may need a quick rub with some sandpaper and a quick shot of paint. And these aren't the white wagon wheels I ordered, but I simply can't afford to miss any more work so the guys at 4WP give me some other dude's order so I could put them on today. (To whoever ordered those wheels, sorry.) The spare is still at the shop waiting for it's wheel - sometime next week. The track bar is going on tomorrow. The SYE/drive shaft and 4:11s are coming soon. Tummy tuck is next up, but I need to wait till the wife is talking to me again.
I learned that driveline vibrations are not fun, death wobble brings you closer to God (and makes you want a truck), that I have no business crawling around under the vehicle that pays the bills, and finally to ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check the tires!

I spent the day on the tractor scraping horse crap out of the south pasture so we can use it for a parking lot. The horses got moved to the north pasture and they aren't happy about it. They keep running back and forth.
I breathed so much dust and horse poop today I think I'm going to fart dust later.
There are 250 chairs in the front yard in front of the gazebo, flowers everywhere, people making preparations everywhere, and a few eye candys here to boot.
I'm spent. Tomorrow should be interesting tho'. Most of the people coming are in their late twenties and early thirties. I'll try to get some pics to post.
Question is, who's gunna' clean all this stuff up on Sunday? Not me!
