Ha! It needs it! Ive had it since March and haven't gotten it really dirty yet. Ive put a lot of time and money into her and still have yet to take her on her maiden voyage yet! I'm think when I get back I need to find a run.

Just wanted to share my weekend project.

Here is a little back story, This is my mothers Jeep cherokee that she bought new in 1984 (it is an 85 model) it has 248,000 miles on it and runs like a dream. It has been sitting for about 5 years now since she bought a new jeep, well my sister needs a 4x4 to get around in the winter (They live in Big Bear) but this thing has been abused my hauling junk and three kids learning to drive and just not taking care of it. My sister has 2 kids and I figured for their early Christmas present I would clean it up a bit and fix all the little things wrong with it like the 4wd vacumn system and interior lights that don't work. Let me know what you think? Here are a couple of pics, I wish I would have taken a better before pic but trust me it was gross.

When half the interior was gutted

New carpet padding and insulation.

New Carpet, boy was this a PITA.

Recovered the headliner.

The exterior after sanding out a key mark from 15 years ago. It is wet so don't go thinking it had any shine to that paint.

I have also plastic painted all the interior trim since it was eaten away by the sun and just cleaned the heck out of the thing. I got alot of advice from my neighbor who is an auto upholstory guy which helped out. I sprayed the first coat of paint yesterday evening but it got dark so i will have to finish the paint up today after work. This just goes to show I don't need to own my own Jeep to get the Jeep fix.
