RE's hack 'n tap works pretty darned well, better than many give it credit for. I don't recall anyone ever saying they had any problems after installing one.

does anybody have one of those hitch mounted motorcycle carriers i can borrow from today till next weds? im REAAALLY trying to avoid hauling a trailer up to Tahoe.

I have always heard people saying to steer clear of them. I assumed there was some reasoning behind it.

well i have only seen one video online of the flange breaking. but the driver was bouncing it and spinning the tires, something has to give, thats the only instance i know of one failing. that being said, i havent had a problem with mine. they are very popular in the XJ crowd, especially the ones on a budget.
