After all the talk and all the inaction and all the false starts I am finally going to get the jeep painted. Taking it to Jason's garage this saturday to get started.
Anyone that can hold a piece of sandpaper is welcome to join in.

Well since it's not your DD, I would go big. But 6.5" of lift seem's like a lot just for one more inch of tire. So I would second guess myself and try to squeeze the 32's under the 4.5".
I also think it would look better with the smaller lift and the big donuts. JMHO.
Did you ever find that cherokee DS? I went to do some easy wheeling with the kids yesterday after school, and high centered on my stupid T-case skid again. I am definately getting rid of that right away.
Jeff... Are you going to paint it the military sand color like the beast?

desert tan = yes
drive shaft = I have two, so if we don't screw one up making Nate's I'll have an extra as well.
BTW, finally got Nate driveable last night. Put in the new calipers, filled and bled the system and all seems well. We re-used the pads that came with the axle because they were like new but the calipers were all dry of fluid inside so new ones were a good choice. Still need to connect the e-brake cables and get the driveshaft sorted out but else, here is good to go.

Thanks, I'll do that. I'm looking forward to checking out some of SoCal's trails.

Very cool. I'll bet Nate's happy.
So when do you want to earn some beer/dinner helping me install my SYE, since you are now the SYE guru?
I am really annoyed with the t-case drop, and now that I don't have the factory steps, it shows itself prominantly.
I need to re route my exhaust stuff like you did too.
You are getting a sticker that say's: Will mod for pizza & beer
What color would you like?

Not since May. I think we're about due.
And I still need to get the flange from you. (sorry I never think of it until I see your name)
How's life been without a jeep? Did you get that truck?

my personal opinion, 4.5" and 33's. its a very popular set up. low COG and capable with 33's. thats my plan on down the road

Doesn't that mean some decent trimming is involved?

youll have to trim with 6.5" as well. not much less if any.
my friends rough country 6.5" kit with 2" spacers up front and 33's
still quite a bit of trimming.

Do you have any side shots of yours or your friends rig? You're saying that I would have to trim similar amounts if I go with a 6.5" lift or a 4.5" lift? This isn't making sense in my brain or my mind.
