Joe - not sure where that is - new to jeepin and new to that area...
anyone have a map of the events overlayed with trails and good places to camp?
what kinda facilities can I expect/ not expect. I'm used to camping with/without...
If you enter JV from Boone Rd, once you get close to the lakebed on the right side of the rd, you should see a triangular shaped JV info sign. Just before that sign, you should see a few lightly traveled dirt trails shooting off from the left side of the road. These narrow splinter trails generally take you so that you are headed towards a sandy hill. You can't miss the sandy hill since its the only one in this general area. Just to the left of that sandy hill is a canyon (Turkay Claw) & just left of Turkey Claw is our normal campsite.
There is absolutely NO permanent camp facilities in JV!
No cable TV
No public phones
No dump stations
Bring everything you need & take everything with you when you leave.
Do NOT bring firewood with nails (pallets).
Dry camping at its best.
There will be several vendors there offering certain services (water fill-ups, tank dumping, etc) but be advised, they won't be cheap or easily available.
