Jeeps vs. Superstition Mt OHV 4/17-19

April 17-19, camping and wheelin at Superstition Mt. OHV. Trails from yawn to dang, I broke my...

The Superstition Mt OHV area has been named as one of BFG's Outstanding Trails in the United States. Located just west of El Centro and within sight of Interstate 8 it's easy to get to with plenty of room for wheelin and camping.

We'll be dry camping near the base of the mountain, no facilities of any kind. If you were at the SD4Wheelers Run in January we'll be camping about a mile north of there, close to the sand dunes, and a shorter run to the trails.

Arriving Friday afternoon, a night run on the dunes; Saturday run some trails and see if Jimmy can keep his tires on his rims.

Come on out and join us, everyone welcome

From Interstate 8 East:

* Take the Dunaway Road Exit North.
* Turn East onto County Hwy S80/Evan Hewes Hwy
* Turn North onto Huff Road
* Turn West onto Wheeler Road to Superstition Mountain

What? No full hookups?
We are planning to go to this.
Richie want's to see if Luv 2 Camp will deliver a trailer out there.
Do you have the GPS coordinates?
My Jeep won't get dusty will it?
Are my 3:55 gears on 33's gunna' be OK on those trails?
Are there any rivers with water in them nearby we can go swimming? Hot mineral pools maybe?
Is Jeff bringing his cooker to whoop up one of those turkeys?
What should we bring?
Who else is going?
What are the directions from the north?
I ask a lot I know.

I'll deliver a tent

Do you have the GPS coordinates?

Yes

My Jeep won't get dusty will it?

It's getting dusty now, sitting around not being used

Are my 3:55 gears on 33's gunna' be OK on those trails?

Sure, no problem, no problem at all, trust me

Are there any rivers with water in them nearby we can go swimming? Hot mineral pools maybe?

Plenty, just don't drink it

Is Jeff bringing his cooker to whoop up one of those turkeys?

Like, duh

What should we bring?

Money, beer, loose, wild, bow-legged wimmin and a Dynatrac ProRock 60 for me would a good start

Who else is going?

Where?

What are the directions from the north?

Go south

I ask a lot I know

Nuthin new, we're used to it

Can I plug into your generator to run my microwave and TV?
Betsy may want to bring her curling iron and blow dryer too.
Will I get body damage?
Should I make sure my spare holds air?
Do the bowlegged womin need to have teeth?

I was hoping Rik would head that direction, thanks for spoiling everything, we're probably stuck with him now

Only if you have Directv and surround sound

Betsy may want to bring her curling iron and blow dryer too.

Is she going to do your hair out there? Again???

Will I get body damage?

Yes, you will. The Jeep should be fine.

Should I make sure my spare holds air?

You have a spare?

Do the bowlegged womin need to have teeth?

Preferably no

I will find you no matter where you camp. The desert isn't THAT big.

I got the OK from Betsy, so we are definitely going, unless I win the lottery. Then I'll be on my yacht in the Mediterranean......

or anchored in a harbor off Fiji scuba diving.......

It would not be an officially sanctioned SD camping trip if I did not bring the turkey fryer.

The closest water is salton sea

I'll have a turkey and fixings for saturday dinner and usually make pancakes or eggs for breakfast. I usually don't plan a dinner for friday night since everyone gets in at different times but GI Joe is fully stocked and I can make a few things on the fly.

trails are from mild to wild

I'm gunna' need to plug into somebody's generator if I don't get mine fixed in time. I may just go buy a new one, don't know.
All we have left to do to the camper is give it a bath and fill it with food/water/gasoline/beer. The Jeep is ready too.
What do you need us to donate to the Saturday breakfast and dinner?
I can bring some eggs, a couple gallons of OJ, whatever.....
Betsy make's a pretty killer potato salad. I give advice for free. My kids like to eat. What else?

Not much. Just enough to run the popcorn bag sized microwave in my camper, and do a little battery maintenance.

I can bring some firewood on my trailer. I have a lot, but I'm not sure how much I can haul.
If Chris goes, we can put more in his toy hauler.

Your Dana 60 is already installed. Go look. You're welcome.

So who all is going to this?

Rik, Betsy, the kids
Richie, Kellie, the kid (pretty sure)
Chris and Krista (maybe)
Steve?
Jeff?
Obama?
Who?

The Who is going to be there?? Our own concert?

Or is that the right Who?

Maybe Who One or Who Two, either will do, will they ride out with me or ride out with you?
