I have been wanting to check this out but the last 4-5 times it was here I was either out of town, working, previous plans or some other thing got in the way.

Is it worth going? I've heard mixed reports.

If you have never been, yea its worth going. Bear in mind though, its about half the size it used to be. The show used to fill up two exhibit halls, now its only one. Due to the anti gun political climate, the nation wide ammo shortage Im sure will be seen at the gun show too.

Where is this at? I need to get a rig for my Super duty. Its been so long since I've done anything HAM, I'm sure I'll need some guidance. Want to meet me there?

I suppose that means I'll be at the gun show on Sunday. most likely around noonish.

Sunday is probably my day; Saturday is for project and errands. Maybe I'll swing by the radio store today, it's right up the street.

I saw on the news yesterday that the line to get in was a quarter mile long.

Yup. I think I'll take a pass.

People showed up early Saturday and the lines were long.

Quote:
“We waited 7˝ hours in line today,“ said Nick Pinto, a Poway resident and gun owner. “We started at eight o’clock. I didn’t really get to look at the show. I just waited in line – to get in and for ammo.”

Yeah screw that. I sat in traffic for about 30 mins, parking wasn't too bad, sat in line for 15 mins to buy a ticket, when I got to the front of the line I asked the people waiting to get in how long they were waiting, they said at least an hour and a half. I said screw it and left.

While I'm glad people are buying guns and ammo, I think del mar should have prepared for this a little better. Maybe open up another building or something. Spread the vendors out so you can fit more people inside. I know there's no way to get around the traffic.

Del Mar wants to kick the show out because guns are scary, despite that fact that the fairgrounds will make over $300k for the weekend.

IIRC it used to be 2 buildings, now down to one. Cost cutting, I'm sure. Blame the promoters as much as the fairgrounds.
