Dec 20, 2009 - Day run

Ok, plans are always subject to change but here is my idea.

In Ramona there is a gas station with a huge parking lot on the right side just east of town. Meet there at 9am sunday.

Start with a run to Coyote Canyon then go on from there. I would like to poke around a little and see how the rains have affected the area and redesigned the trails.

I'm sure Steve will chime in later with a more detail suggestion.

Bring the Ram, we'll be out by your towers. Surely there must be good cell service out there

There was some talk in another thread about geocaching. I have never done it but I will bring my GPS if anyone wants to explain how it works and what to do.

Look up a geographic area on Geocahcing.com find a geochace, write down the lat/long coords and using your GPS wander aimlessly about the desert like a lunatic looking under rocks, bushes and various floral and fauna until you find a small tin or box and then dance with joy at making a great discovery. Simple

There are more than 800 known geochaches within a 10 mile radius of Borrego Springs. We should be able to find at least one :thumbsup

For GPS reference the gas station is Stage Stop Mart & Liquor, 578 Main St, Ramona, CA 92065. Gas was $2.79 there this morning. Big parking lot and kick-a coffee
