Yeah. They brought em back to California Speedway back in 05 if memory serves when the drag strip was on the near side of the track. They missed a year or two when the drag strip was moved and then scheduling conflicts. This year was Bug-In 35..... As a vendor doing shows for the last 12 years it gets kinda old, but I enjoy my work for the most part.

Back to POST style info. Will there be any one bringing firearms? Is there any legal areas out there to shoot for that matter? Just picked up a XD9 Tac and wanted to try it out.

Oh... It becomes clear now.

Back in the day, the Indians used to name their kids that way.
The baby would be born, the chief would ask what it was, boy or girl, then he would quickly look around to find a name by whatever he saw at that moment, soaring eagle, running deer, two dogs humping, horse crapping, etc...
Wonder why they don't do that in our culture.

No place to legally shoot around there.

Glad I showed up to the fire a few minutes behind Nate or I'd be ChrisWithoutSomething because I HAD BEER!

Last time we went shooting it was about halfway to El Centro and we just pulled off the 8 a ways and made sure to go back in an area WAY away from any houses, campgrounds, etc. and were shooting up against a hill. We were with my buddy's dad who's a former cop.

I've also had cops in AZ say that as long as you're in the desert and being safe they're not going to hassle you for shooting. Not saying you should do it, I'm just saying...

I find with firearms, if there is ANY question, there isn't a question! That is unless it comes to defending my family, then all rules are out the window.

There is also a place off Painted Gorge RD and S80 to shoot.

Wash 102 is close to the entrance of Canyon Sin Nombre (east a bit) opposite side (south side) of the street. So you would go South in Wash 102. Then you come to a fork marked Wash 103. Follow Wash 103 a bit to the area where you can shoot.

When will you have time to shoot? We'll be wheeling Friday/Saturday/Sunday morning.
I like to shoot too. Maybe we should gather up the arsenals and head out for a weekend of shootin' cans. I have a bunch of different guns, and my son has a ton of them too. Ammo is cheaper lately also. I think I have enough ammo now to stock a small army.
Speaking of which, did you see where that guy made two deadly shots for a world record distance of 1.54 miles to kill two Taliban? Then the guy gets in a Humvee and hits a roadside bomb and breaks both his arms among other stuff. Crazy shots! Over 8,000 feet! (Confirmed with GPS)

Anyway, back on topic....
I am thinking Friday night hit the closest trail for a rig shakedown.
Saturday morning after breakfast go to the Squeeze, HAH, Sand Canyon, Mud Caves, Diablo Dropoff, a bit more, then back to camp for pot luck.
Sunday morning head out to the badlands area (river), Hangman's Tree, Stage Stop, then loop back around to the highway and back to camp to head home.

Any suggestions to this plan?

When to shoot.......ANYTIME WE STOP! I don't know. There's usually some downtime on trail rides. My friends go shooting over by Vail Lake pretty frequently. They have a buddy that has a couple of acres above the lake. Me personally, I just have the XD, but my friends have a militias worth of guns and ammo. Maybe I can get us an invite next time they go. Either way, yeah, we should go shoot something soon!

Plan sounds good to me! I just want to make it for the night run to test out the new HIDs! Chances are I won't be on the road till 7. Luckily it shouldn't take but about 30-45 minutes from then to get over. What time is the night run gonna start?

It doesn't get dark until around 8:30 or so. I have no idea. Just when everybody is ready. You have my cell number. Call when you are leaving your house. The campground is about an hour from my house pulling a trailer, maybe a bit more.
