~Camping May 14, 15, 16 Anza Borrego~

Newcomers are welcome and encouraged to join us. Time to meet some new friends. We are a friendly group (well, most of us lol)
We are doing Anza Borrego on the Pinyon Mountain Trail and more.
We'll be staying at the Butterfield Stage RV Resort. They have everything from full hookups to tent sites to full cabins for rent.
They have three swimming pools, three jacuzzis, store, playgrounds, trees, grass, etc..., really clean and well run.

We want to do The Squeeze, Heart Attack Hill, Diablo Dropoff, Mud Caves, Sand Canyon, and as much as we can squeeze in over the weekend before it gets too hot out there to wheel. Maybe a night run on Friday night?

>>LINK to Butterfield Ranch RV Resort<<

The phone number is 760.765.1463 and we are in Circle A.
When you call to make your reservation, use CODE WORD: "Rotorhead"

We have a camping circle set aside for us with a large fire pit in the center.
Full Hookups:
$25.00 (two nights with tax $54)
Tent sites:
$15.00
Pets:
Two pets allowed per site (maximum 24" at shoulder). Owner responsible to leash pet and clean-up. $2 Pet Fee required upon arrival.
Don't forget your bathing suit. They don't allow for skinny dipping in the pools or jaccuzzis (thank God).
Please note, the nearest gas station to the Park is approximately 30 miles away and closes in the early evening.

I will probably stay at the campground, even though it's a little fancy pants for my taste. Running water? Who needs it?

My sister did the trail in her bone stock TJ/LJ with Kelly Springfield street tires. It's all about taking the obstacles slow and a good spotter.
She is probably going to be there again in the same Jeep. My other sister is going with her 4Runner on 33 BFGs stock too if she can't find a Wrangler by then.
I'm sure somebody will have an empty seat tho'.

AAAAaaannddd.... we can get you really drunk for your birthday and when you pass out we'll draw a Jeep grill on your forehead with a Sharpie!

Cool! We can get a group rate on the camp sites if we get 15. Looks to be headed that way quickly.

Never stayed at Butterfield..... Always tented or recently brought my Toy Box. What's the camp arrangements like? Can we tent camp/crash someone's spot? How much is a "site"?

Tentatively myself (TJ), my brother(TJ), my friend(YJ) and another friend will be joining you if you'll let us.

If we'll let you? Could we stop you if we wanted to?
Why would we stop you when you are bringing all the beer?

Of course. I'm not sure about how strict they are with the sharing spaces thing.
The sites are regularly $30 and night with hookups, tents are obviously going to be a lot less.
Just take your toybox and you all split the cost of the site. But can you pull the toybox with your Jeep, or does the Jeep fit inside?

I'm taking a spot with hookups just because I can. Don't really have to have the hookups, but it's convenient since I don't have a very big water tank or a generator in my camper.
I put a link to the campground in the first post.

I'm going to call them this weekend to let them know what kind of numbers we will have so we can all camp together. It would be helpful to know who is tenting, need's hookups, etc...

I'll need the names of your brother and your friends for the list in the first post. I'm sorry I forgot your brother's name. I owe him a beer for it.

Here's a couple pics of my sister's completely stock Jeep TJ/LJ.
First one is a close up of her tires and she goes through The Squeeze.
Second is her coming down Heart attack hill.
She made it up Diablo Dropoff first try.

LOL, SMCALPAC +3 would have sufficed! Can't fit the Jeep in the Box, but I may have a buddy drive the Jeep. Then I could tow the toy box out...... Hmmm.
