I used to cook everything over an open fire. Gas was a byproduct of my chili.

Rik you could also just sleep in a tent! Just sayin!

So far the roster is...

Me and my girlfriend in my bronco
My friend with his jeep.

Get there friday evening and set up camp at blaire valley. Eat food drink beer listen to the sound of nothing.
Saturday morning go hike around blair valley, come back and eat lunch, head over to the wash and drive around and let my girlfriend get my bronco stuck.
Sunday, clean up, enjoy more silence, head off and get some breakfast in julian.

The end.

LOL! propane rules white gas. I'll never have another white gas appliance. I got the green tank filler at harbor freight for $20 so i can just refill the small ones off my big one. With 20 gal in my camper i NEVER run out!
I found the problem by reverse engineering. I took it apart one piece at a time and turned the gas on.
Turns out, there is a rubber hose that comes from the dual stage regulator that goes into the camper to feed the appliances. It's double walled, and when it has the slightest bend in it, the interior hose was collapsing.
So, I think hmmmm..... an RV part. Must be about a three hundred dollar hose, has to be special ordered, and is no longer being manufactured.
So I went to Hank's Hardware in Temecula. The had them in all sizes haning in the rack for $10. I love that place.
So I left the fridge running all night, and it made ice cubes in the freezer.
Today, I did some long awaited mods on my awning, replaced that rubber molding that covers the screws along the seams at the edges, cleaned all the dust inside, and pretty much went through it.
It's a done deal. Ready to camp again. The paint looks a little faded on the outside. Guanna' have to have Chris come over and squirt some paint on it someday soon. Then Richie can make me some cool graphics for the sides.

Nah.... Camper is done.

We may head down Friday early morning and let the kids ride their quads around, then head home Saturday evening so we can do Easter with family.
80% sure we're going so far.

Bathroom? The bathroom is everywhere in the desert. Is this in a campground?

Its not really a campground, more like just a bathroom. My girlfriend prefers to use the restrooms when we are in the desert.

This is the spot i wanna camp at...

Well when i drove to mira mesa today and when i got there there was a bunch of steam coming from the hood. The engine block and the passenger side of the engine compt was covered in coolant. I think its just my radiator hose though becuase i can see it leaking from the top hose.

Our probability of going is dropping fast.
Betsy said if we are going to Superstition two weeks later, let's just wait. We have to come home early this weekend anyway to be back in time for family obligations for Easter too.
Doesn't mean I can't make it for the day trip tho'. But not for hiking. I, like Dave, have an ankle that is giving me trouble right now too.
But I'm up for wheeling for the day if I can talk the kids into it.
I'll know for sure tomorrow morning.

I dont think the wheeling trip we are going to do is going to be anything worth driving out for. Just some sight seeing stuff, im gonna take it easy on the bronco because as soon as i find the right jeep im gonna buy it.

Fixed my radiator hose so im all set, except i didnt get to do the packing for the trip that i wanted to do today.

Blair Valley Campground to 33.035468, -116.402336 - Google Maps

isnt that where we all camped out at that time my dad came down? if i remember correctly, i passed out outside the tent on a deflated air matress in a windstorm with a bottle of whiskey...and i remember something about coyotes in teh middle of the night. cool place. probably be SUPER green out there right now!

The kids want to wait until Superstition. They don't want to miss the Easter egg hunts and stuff this weekend.
