It snowed a little last night but if you watch the news it probably says there was 8 feet and the mountain is shut down.

ok Big Bear is off the list. Gonna get to cold up there. Not worth the 2hr ea way drive to wheel in iffy weather. Plus Chris might accidently shoot a jeep trying to hit a deer. Anyone wanna go to Ocotillo Wells (TDS) area? Play in the notches...

I take it you don't have a heater in your jeep or like the cold?

Probably going to be out there the week before. ODF is going on as well as Borrego Fest.

I do and I don't... I grew up in Ontario (CA) and big bear is/was my stomping ground. Just don't wanna play in the snow as of yet. Besides I got to thinking. Nov 18 1996 I still had paper plates on the jeep and just put about 1500 miles on it. I was coming down to about 2 miles above Fawnskin and hit black ice going around a curve at about 30. Hit a car head on and nearly totaled the TJ. Wasted the front end, control arms, fender, bumper, transfer case, driveshaft and airbag... Probably not a good thing to head up. Nearing my 17 yr anniversary.

No reason it can't be a last minute trip, depending on the weather

I grew up in Big Bear and I don't like the cold either but I will wheel wherever, whenever I have a chance.

That's why you need to throw a tent in your rig with some tools, food and parts and say "OK, lets head out for a day or two."
