Ziebart Undercoat Review

Here's my first post, and it isn't a positive one:

I went ahead and got my Jeep rust treated and underlined at the local Ziebart, and I must warn all of my fellow jeepers, approach with caution.

When I first pulled up everything looked great, drove it away and got it home. That's when I did some inspecting. My brand new Dynomax muffler and tailpipe were covered in this underbody crap. I told the lady that I had a new muffler and exhaust and she told me there would be a little bit of overspray, well this was not overspray at all, this was just negligence on Ziebart's part. There were many spots missed as well, and many moving parts that had this crap all over it that shouldn't, overall, it was a half *** job.

All I have to say, is if you want something done right, do it yourself. I'm taking it back in tomorrow and I will be raising some hell.

How's that for my first post?

I had mine coated down in Corpus Christi. They did a top notch job. Hell, when they finished they washed my YJ. The only complaint I had was they somehow oversprayed onto the body. But I cleaned that off before I even got home. So far, it's held up amazing. Sorry to hear about the bad news. They should be independently operated. Go to the owner and gripe, he or she may even give you a store credit.

Not much motion in the ocean, but I'm the captain.

Heck I thought Ziebart went out of business decades ago. We had a local one back in the 70's and early 80's but it went out of business. Don't recall having seen one since.

The end of a defining era.... JEEP R.I.P. 1941-1986

They're still around but there aren't any in central or eastern PA any more, there are a couple out near Pittsburg and near Baltimore.
