Rustproofing

Hi,

When we were visiting Jeep dealers, one of the salesmen told me that if I was going to be taking of the doors (well, duh) that I would need to rustproof each of the hinges. I'm not sure if this was his subtle hint so I would purchase the rustproofing from him or if he was being nice by suggesting it to me.

Has anyone had issues with the door hinges rusting or has anyone done this? I was thinking if it's necessary, I could find someone to do it or do it myself instead of giving more $$ to the dealership.

Thanks!

He was a salesman... he doesn't know much about anything. Your jeep will rust to pieces before those pins do. Throw some grease on them and your good to go.

Heard a bunch of people putting bed liner on the hinges, I would assume that would rust proof the outsides. Look cool too

I'll check into that too! Living in the Chicagoland area, I should probably look into some general rustproofing anyway!!!
