Removing Rivets

Removed the Renegade Package from my 92 YJ and there are some metal rivets holding little L shaped brackets on the fender wells that I need to remove, I borrowed a pic from another member here to show what I'm talking about, If someone can clue me in on how to remove these I would reall appreciate it. Thanks
Chris

Drilling them out is the best way I now if you do it carfully you can just drill the head of the rivet off without harming the body underneth.

I have previously drilled the head off and had no issues damaging the body.

Drill them out.

If you have an MRO shop handy (or an MRO catalogue,) a set of centre drills come in VERY handy for removing rivet heads without undue body damage...

hey looky there another feller who removed his renegade package

I just punched mine out but thats because I'm building tubes on the front highlining the rear and putting rock sliders in the middle so pretty much I just have to weld in the holes, primer and cover with body armor.

Yeap, didn't have much choice though as it had been wrecked on the front drivers side and the plastic was busted up, instead of replacing I just pulled it all off, luckly I didn't have any rust problems like yours when I pulled it off, all real clean course living in the South West helps with that.

Like I said you can punch them out you already have a descent amount of welding and bondo work so punching them isn't really going to hurt IMO but drilling is the best way
