Prepping brake calipers for paint?

What's the best/proper way to prep brake calipers for painting? What to use to clean off the oil from the manufacturer? Do I need to use an etching primer? I've tried this before with varying levels of success. Looking to do it right this time.

That's what I used last time to clean the oil off. How about prepping and painting? Is an etching primer necessary?

I just used brake cleaner and duplicolor caliper paint. Seems to be holding up just fine.
