Paint reducer question

This is my first time painting with real paint (not rattle can) so do not flame me to bad.

Will reducer change the dry time of new paint? Reason I'm asking is because I started painting my donor tub today and it seemed the paint was drying really quick. I reduced it 2 to 1 and it dried really fast. Do I just need to work faster?

If I reduce it more will it dry slower? My spray gun even had paint in it that was trying to dry. Pain to clean up. I had to take the gun apart.

If I have to drill out another bolt, I'm just going to start welding parts on.

What type and brand of paint are you using? What is the mix ratio as called for on the can?

I've never painted anything without using reducer and a catalyst or hardener.

How short is the flash time that you have now? Properly mixed paint should not flash faster than 20 minutes or so.
