How many quarts of paint would i need to paint the roof of my xj?

The roof of my xj is getting rust spots and was wondering if anyone knows how many quarts of paint would I need to paint it I will be using a harbor freight gun ( if it makes a difference ) thanks

For the roof Id say 1 quart and you will use it all. What kind of paint are you going to use.

If its cheap enough Id get 2 qts as its not fun to run out. Also get the reducer and hardener to get it to set up quick.

Was going to do that iam probably going to put two pinstripes on both sides. But whats reducer for? This is my first time painting a car

The reducer is thinner for enamel type paints. he hardener is just hardener. It makes the paint harden within hours instead of weeks.

Dont forget the cost of good slear primer too..ortherise you'll be doing this over sooner than later.

Which HF gun did you buy?..one trick with those guns is to a much higher PSI at the gun than it recommends,so make sure your compressor is up to it even though its a small task.

I have a few i use for small jobs and they actualy are good guns for the price and short term use,but they are air hogs to get them to have a good spray pattern and atomize right.
