Has Any one Removed their GC Roof Rails?

When removing the Roof Rails;

1). How big are the holes left behind?
2). Are there plugs or anything on the market that goes into the holes to cover them up?
3). Does anyone have any pics of their roof (close-up) so I can see how it was done?

Thanks

I have on a Cherokee and there are 4-5 per side. A small nutsert sticks up about 1/8 of an inch. The screws are around 1/4 inch in diameter sticking up about 3/8 of an inch total.
Ill try for a picture tonite.

I would really appreciate it Ron - a pic is worth a thousand words - (not to say your discription is not a good one)

That looks very neat compared to mine.

Did it come with the white hole cover/screws or can these be purchased to match the color of the vehicle?

Here's what mine looks like at the moment;

The roof was green like the rest of the Jeep. I left the screws in when I painted the roof.

Thanks for the pics and info. They are going to fill the holes in my roof and then respray the roof.

When I did mine I drilled the zerts out and carefully tack welded small round pieces of sheetmetal and ground flat and bondo filled the rest then primed and rattle canned painted since roof was hidden by aftermarket roof rack.

Thanks for the info and the pic.

Mine will have a roof rack on it too but I almost wish they would not have filled the holes though. Now if I want to sell the vehicle in the future I will not be able to put the rails back unless they are drilled into the roof.
