Half tops

Not sure if this is the right forum or not, but I'm thinking about getting a half-top instead of a soft-top for my jeep.

Heres what I'm looking at:

Is this pretty much a traditional soft top cut in half? Can I drive with it year round?

You can drive year round with any top! Yes, that, i think, does the same job as a full top but just cutting out the rear seats.
