My TJ is a beauty all around but the previous owner before me had this genious idea to use a cheap paint on the fender flares which over time lead to cracking and alot of chipping which just anooys the SH*T out of me because she looks good besides that.. Ive been told from other jeepers that a textured ruberized finish would look nice but im not to sure?
Any good ideas out there from anyone whos done this project before? i really dont wanna buy new ones because i like the do it yourself experience but would hate to put in all the time for an epic fail :brickwall:
Any previous experience would help! Thanks everyone!!
Rustoleum makes a product called Trim and Bumper Paint. It's supposed to be a match to the factory plastic and it has a picture of an XJ bumper on the front.
Has anybody tried this stuff and if so, how did it look and how did it last?
Thanks for the input guys! i always forget to check my posts hah prolly cause im a newbie to the forum
But Mudvain i had heard of the krylon fusion alot of people were saying thats a very good route to go.
In my first attempt to deassemble the Flares the screws were just spinning in place, i tried using a pair of needle nose plyers and a socket to take off but no luck!!
New hardware is what im going to need but in the process im thinking of eaither going back to standard factory replacement or maybe some rugged ridge? Im a jeeper on a budget so ill see what happens but i appreciate the feedback guys!
