Coating Rust

Need some more advice here. Some y'all may already know from my other threads that I am completely green and learning off this jeep. I am needing some kind of rust coating this spring, It's a 97 not completely covered in rust underneath but still I do need to do something to prevent. I like what I'm reading and hearing about POR-15 but mainly what I'd like advice on here is how exactly to do this. I haven't worked in mechanics much at all and never done any rust coating so any advice is appreciated.

If you are going to use POR-15 products, which is fine, you will find directions on what to do on their website.
