I am taking a stabb at the bodywork on my CJ7. This is a trail rig/summer toy, so we are not going for the trophy-winning look, but want it to look decent. Here is the current situation:
I cut out and welded the corroded metal, and now need to level things out with filler. Going forward, I will be working outdoors (in RI). I will have the filler appied in the garage before I get kicked out (owner moving), and sanding will not be an issue in the driveway.
After I get this sanded down, how can I seal up things untill warner weather comes, so I can paint? Is there some type of a primer product that will protect the body work/bare metal that would not allow moisture to penetrate untill I can paint in a month or so?
