Body lift removal

I'm assuming this is in the right place, body work?

3" body lift came with the Jeep. I want to remove it, and replace with 1.25". Anyone done this before? Or just removed a BL completely and can give me steps to remove it/awareness of what to not do when removing it. Or is there a thread/website with installation instructions I could use and just work backwards? The reason I want to remove it, is because 1 its ugly, you can see everything, power steering, gas tank, ect. and two (2) my 4lo doesn't work, linkage problem that I have yet to solve. Any help/info on this would be awesome! thanks

i must tell you b4 i give you this advice i have never even been around a 3"bl and i i am in no way shape or form an expert. i did the 1.25" on my jeep and was verry easy (asside from getting the origional bolts out)

it should be pretty straigh forward, remove the fan shroud (if its not already) to insure that you wont have any hang ups (transfercase select might also be affected at 3" but asside from getting the original pucks out you wont have to lift the body hardly at all)

- remove the ront and back bolts that hold the body on the frame
- pick what side you want to do first and remove those bolts as well
- loosen the bolts from the other side a couple of turns (so the body will be abel to flex eithout bending anything)
- rase the body just enough so you can pull the pucks out from the front, rear, and chosen side and replace with smaller ones
-put bolts from chosen side back in loosly
- lower chosen side on to pucks
-rase/support second side slightly
- remove bolts and pucks from 2nd side
- replace with new pucks
- lower and replace all other bolts and tighten everything down

hope this hepls!

you will need shorter bolts. do one at a time to keep everything lined up. i plan to remove my 2" BL when i do the 8.8 swap---soon!

Thanks for the help guys! I'm glad I at least have a list of steps to work with. I'll definitely have to look in to see if there was a t-case drop(?) or MML(?) Here is the BL I am going to replace it with, my friend i talked to asked me if the 3" BL kept its original bushings, I have no idea, if i get this BL do I need stock bushings or does it look like it comes with them? Thanks!
