I also curious about this, I had my cj tub sprayed with Line X $$$... Asked them today how much it would be for the bumpers and sidesteps but they just want too much. So as a test I started spraying my sidesteps with bed liner and then also went over it with a black enamel coat (mist to keep the texture)

That looks real good, easy touch up

How much did Line-X want for bumpers and steps?

They did my tub about a year ago or so for around 600-700. He quoted me 500.00 for the bumpers and steps. I mentioned being able to bring them in all stripped but that didn't change anything. He also said they wouldn't take them off of the car

As for the sidesteps I tried just glazing the other one with the black gloss to see how that would turn out.

Im curious to try out the duplicolor bed armor or plastikote bed guard since I'm after more texture. Although I should proably just get a monstaliner kit

I'm sorry to sound bias but many people have said the same that Bed Armor is craaaaaaaaaaap! And I agree... I rolled it and it's almost impossible to get even texture. The kevlar is in there to create texture and because it's not really rough like the crumb rubber in Herc but it's like stringy or something. I really was disappointed thinking it would be better. I still smiled though

There is no way i would spray that on outside of my jeep because your only gonna get once chance of that and it will look great untill you need to redo it and or it starts to chip away and and unless you strip it all off and reshoot it it will never look like the first time. Not to mention anywhere it seperates from the body with trap moisture. If it begins to rust you will never know untill its too late.it will rot from the inside out. :/ just my opinion. To each there own though.

Probably a silly question? How are most people doing the hinges and screws? Wouldn't lining the heads with them in cause them to stick?
