Army Green Primer?

I have a white 00 xj that i want to primer army green... !! Whats the most inexpensive method that will last at least a couple years.. I dont have a primer gun or air compressor yet....spray can?

Cheapest would be Rust-Oleum that is mixed at the store. Rent a compressor and buy a Harbor Freight spray gun.
