Comments: the t-18 is a heavy duty transmission. it's very heavy and can be difficult to take out and put back in. it took three guys including myself to take mine out and put it back in.

Comments: The jeep t-18 is a great transmission. And is great for what it was intended for "utility purposes". I think the jeep person at heart holds this transmission to close to the heart because of its legacy. I think if you have an offroad jeep or a work or farm jeep the t-18 is a great transmission. but in my opinion its #2 when it comes to factory jeep cj transmissions. I think the all around best jeep transmission is the t-176. the t-18 is a three speed with a granny low first gear. I think if your not opposed to running something that's not jeep and you have a v-8 and 35" tires or bigger you should be running a NV4500.
