Reduce driveline vibration on lifted vehicles with this Heavy Duty Slip-Yoke Eliminator Kit for Jeep's NP231J transfer case. Transfer case tailshaft length is reduced by 6.5" on '97-'01 Wranglers and 4.25" on '88-'95 models resulting in improved driveline angles. Kit includes a redesigned transfer case mainshaft which is not only shorter but has an 18% larger spline diameter, a 54% increase in torque capacity.

Pros: This is IMO a must for any NP231J
Cons: none

Comments: 32 spline output shaft is much better than stock, this is a must IMO. You don't have to buy Advanced Adapters but just get one for piece of mind.

Price: $200.00
Pros: Cheap, Straight forward instructions, Decent write-ups on the net.
Cons: Made in Taiwan, Vietnam, or one of those other countries that are not America.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Save yourself some time and buy a stubby ratcheting 14 millimeter wrench (pretty sure it was a 14. verify with write-ups before you buy) to remove the very top bolt holding the t-case to the trans. You can make this swap by either removing the t-case or leaving it installed. I found it much easier to remove the case. It's much easier to reassemble while out. Especially if you are unfamiliar with the inner workings of the t-case. While you are doing this swap, you might as well change the speed-o gear. You have to remove it anyways and it's probably worth the $1.99 to correct your speedometer.

Price: $250.00
Pros: Never given me a problem
Cons: none

Comments: I used the kit in conjunction with Rubicon Express RUCA's to minimize D/L vibes. I still have some vibes at 0-10mph that we never could get rid of.

Price: $666.00
Pros: eliminates need for t-case drop
Cons: housing casting was off
Recommended? Yes

Comments: great product once you get past the vague instructions and troubleshoot the odd problem i had. the casting they used on the housing must have been off, when i finished the installation and went to test it out the shift rod was bottoming out on the rod channel in the housing, i wobbled it out with a drill bit and everything is kosher.

Price: $200.00
Pros: Easy intall, high quality
Cons: Snap rings without holes
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Was needed when I installed my lift and was very easy to install (other than none of the snap rings had holes for the pliers- made things a little difficult). Took about four hours total (first time). Nothing more to say really.

Price: $499.00
Pros: Great instructions, except to the speedo indexing. INCLUDED A TOM WOODS CV DRIVESHAFT!!!!!
Cons: Should cover the pinion angle in more detail and maybe shims?
Recommended? Yes

Comments: The installation was real easy. There are no vague instructions. The hardest part was pressing out the two caged needle bearings if you have them. My Cheapese press couldn't do it, so a freind did.

The driveshaft included price was pretty good, saved some buck there.

Price: $100.00
Pros: got a great deal, works great
Cons: Not as short as JB Conversions ultra short
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I like this SYE. It's solid, got a great deal when I bought it used already installed, and it works. Now that I've done a bellyup and about to do a lift, I would go with a shorter SYE (the JB Conversions ulta short one) if I were to do it again, as my DS angles are getting a little silly, and I'd like a longer rear DS. But it's a good option for many.
