Omix-Ada Rugged Ridge CJ Style Mirror

Pros: Cool CJ-style, easy to install
Cons: poor quality powdercoat, doesn't work as advertised
Comments: I planned to remove the factory mirrors and use these puppies with the doors both on and off. They were supposed to solve the problem of not being able to see the pass. mirror thru the soft uppers by mounting the pass. mirror so you looked at it through the windshield. But lo and behold, the arms that came in the box position the mirrors in the same place as the factory mirrors (this is how the instructions said to mount them, contrary to the description and picture on Quadratec's site). As you can imagine, with these mirrors in the factory location but mounted to the windshield frame instead of the pivoting door, they prevent the door from opening fully (at least with the upper door installed). Obviously not an option. I can use the driver's side arm on the pass. side so I can see the pass. mirror thru the windshield (like in the pic), but the pass. side arm doesn't work on the driver's side.
The black powdercoat finish is crap, at least on the arms. They’re all scratched up just from installing them. The powdercoat on the actual mirrors seems to be tougher.
On the bright side, these couldn’t be simpler to install. For now I plan to leave the brackets bolted to the windshield frame and just bolt on the mirrors when I take the doors off. At least this keeps me legal when the doors come off.
