Rancho RS5000 steering stabilizers reduce steering shimmy, improve tire control, and give you more control over your vehicle if a tire should blow out. The single stabilizers protect front-end suspensions, and are used with tires up to 35 in. tall. Dual stabilizers are for off-roaders with tires 35 in. and taller.

Increase vehicle control under all driving conditions by reducing steering shimmy and driver fatigue
Improve tire wear and provide better control in blowout conditions
Single stabilizers help protect front-end suspension components, and are designed for use with tires up to 35" tall
Applications include 4WD, 2WD, trucks, sport utility vehicles, vans, motorhomes, and semi trucks/tractors (class 7 and 8)
Dual setups are designed for the aggressive off-roader with large oversized tires

Commonly known as "The 5th Shock", a Rancho steering stabilizer is a must for vehicles with oversized tires. Featuring RS5000 construction and available in single or dual configurations, Rancho steering stabilizers improve driver control, and minimize uncomfortable road input.
Rancho Steering stabilizer are shock absorbers which are specially engineered to operate horizontal. Acting as a horizontal shock absorber, steering stabilizers reduce vibrations that travel thought the steering system to the driver. The result can be increased control, improved safety and reduced driver fatigue. Simply put, steering stabilizers are installed between the main movable component of the vehicle steering system and its frame.

Comments: Pretty much any aftermarket SS is worthwhile, even for a DD. Highly recommended over the pencil-thin stock SS

Rancho rs 5000 Steering Stabilizer
Price: $44.00
Pros: Performs better than stock
Cons: Pretty red/white finish starts to look rusty very quickly
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This is an update to a previous review. Although the stabilizer performs flawlessly, it is no longer pretty to look at after about 1 year of mostly
city driving.

Rancho rs 5000 Steering Stabilizer
Pros: seems to be doing its job
Cons: rust
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I have the superlift version of this steering stabilizer, When I installed it I noticed my steering became slightly stiffer than before the install. besides that there has not been a whole lot of difference so it is my opinion that it is working correctly.

The only issue I have had so far is that the paint on the body is cheap and it has started to rust at less than a year old.

Rancho rs 5000 Steering Stabilizer
Price: $44.00
Pros: Noticeable Improvement over OEM
Cons: Instruction Details could be improved
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Installed on a 98 TJ with 53k miles. The factory unit must have been nearly wore out because I noticed a significant improvement in steering feel and steering control. The improvement exceeded expectations.

Installation of the new unit was simple. Removal of the factory unit was not. I had to purchase a pitmam arm puller at a cost of $14 to remove the factory unit. This was not mentioned in the installation instructions.

Comments: Really tightened up my steering, which had been getting looser. At 5 years and 66k, it's likely that the stocker was pretty much gone.
