The Rubicon 5.5" Extreme Duty Long Arm kit is the most advanced, best performing suspension system available for the TJ. Designed as a complete replacement suspension, the Extreme Duty kit maintains proper control arm and steering geometry for lifted TJ’s, improving the stability of the vehicle on and off road. Drivers will discover marked improvements in their vehicle’s road manners, returning a nearly stock ride to their modified Jeep™ and unmatched performance where the pavement ends

I chose the RE 5.5" Long arm kit after years of research. Despite the high price of this lift system I have no regrets.

Technical:

Control arms are very tough. They are often used as rock sliders should they need to be. Quick disconnects are included in the kit for your anti-sway bar. Every part can be individualy ordered through Rubicon Express if you need to replace any of them.

Non-Technical:

It drives soo smooth. The flex is unreal, going over huge obsticals you'd think it would be bumpy but the suspension is doing all of the work, giving you a comfortable ride. The ride hight is great. 5.5" lift with the springs that are included with the kit make for a very tall jeep. Good chance you can still fit in the garage.

Safety:

You will roll if you drive stupid. The jeep has next-to-no bumpsteer, torque-steer is a concern but you do get used to it.

I would not recommend any other lift system for anyone wanting to build up a jeep. Rubicon Express may as well translate to "Made for Jeeps"

I love this kit. Was pretty easy to install, nothing to out of the ordinary. The instructions that are given by Rubicon are straight forward. If you different axles like I did (Ford 8.8) then you may have to make some slight modifactions. The ride on this kit is great. It drives better then my F150, and handles much better then the short arm kit.

I have no regrets with the RELA 5.5 kit. Absolutely love it! If you want an awesome on and off road TJ, this is the kit.

The reason for the 9 rating is I dont believe any kit is perfect. But, I believe this is as close as it gets.

Sweet Kit - Realistically its about 7inches of suspension after 5,000 miles...unbelievable articulation, a little bumpier on the road than some others but overall awesome

This setup provides exactly what it supposed to, long travel, level ride over any terrain, poise and balance. Surprising good highway ride and superior handling when the front stabilisers are connected. Excellent idea to make most of the pivoting points rebuildable. The underbelly armour is a real strength.
Downsides for me?
I find it gets fussed if you move fast and really prefers speeds which mean momentum is left largely in the toolbox. This is good for rock crawling I suppose but not so good for general mudding and dirt hill climbs where momentum over ruts and bumps is important.
The rear long arm bolts will self loosen where they attach to the belly plates during an off road trip and you'll hear a lot of knocking from the loose joints. The result of this is the bolt eye holes become elongated and make the whole scenario worse. I suggest the bolt holes need to be beefed up - if on later models they have not already.
Finding a good grease point placement is difficult for RE I suppose due to the design and the inner nipples are really hard to get at with a gun.
