Pros: NONE, I was going to write price but you will end up spending more to make it right.
Cons: Springs are China junk, spring bushings are bad. Rear springs sagged so much in rear 33’s rub on a typical Forest road.
Recommended? No

Comments: I bought this lift for the price. I read reviews before I purchased and knew I was buying lesser quality but didn’t expect it to be this bad. As most know there isn’t much to a 4” inch leaf spring lift and need to keep in mind that you WILL get what you pay for! The installation is the same as almost every 4” kit so nothing to really review. The worst part about the 4” RC lift is the springs. Yes, mine sagged in the rear. My rear right “passenger” sagged a solid ¾” within 50 miles and the left side went down within 150 miles. After 200 miles my 33’s would rub on a typical forest road.

I put the lift on prior to a Hunt here in NM. The rear sagging was so bad that I stopped driving my Jeep the first day in the hunt because I was ripping the “stock” fender flares apart on typical Forest/BLM roads. I wouldn’t even start to try and flex the springs because I only had an inch before it would hit the bump stop.

To fix the problem I thought about calling and going through the process of returning the springs, new springs sent out and re-installing but decided to not throw bad after bad. I simply bought new SkyJacker 4” double military springs to replace the RC springs. I won’t write a review about Skyjacker springs but I would NEVER purchase a 4” RC lift. I spent more with the initial purchase of the RC 4” and now Skyjacker springs to make it right than I would have by purchasing the right lift the first time. Not to mention my time to complete the install of the springs twice.

I will give the springs and bushings to ANYONE who wants to pick them up. I live in ABQ, NM. They have about 300 miles on springs and bushings. I will even work with the person to try and get new springs from RC to replace the other ones.

Price: $450.00
Pros: cheap cheap CHEAP
Cons: install was a pain but that's because the jeep is 17 years old and rust has consumed it living in illinois.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: pretty painless install. took about 7 hours having been done in a shop with a lift and full set of professional tools. a torch is a MUST so many bolts were seized. other than that it was painless. the TC drop was a small nightmare but thats just because of rust issues in illinois

Price: $500.00
Pros: Fairly easy install considering I did it on my rock driveway by myself. With no power tools. Amazingly strong and gives the jeep a great stance.
Cons: Not many, Standard Leaf Spring Problems. Not as much articulation and a bumpy ride that's is.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Rough Country was the best bang for the buck out of the hundreds of decisions for lifts. They offered great quality product for a fair price, it probably didn't hurt that it was a Jeep YJ lift instead of a TJ or Jk. Would Definitely recommend to anyone looking to raise their YJ.

Price: $1,200.00
Pros: Works great for a spring lift. Easy install.
Cons: Expensive.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This was one of the first lift kits for the YJ. Did this in '90. It was actually a 3.5" lift. Works great. Got bigger rubber under the Jeep. Had it incorporated the track loc into the kit at that time.

Price: $519.00
Pros: lift it more than 4" inches, very complete kit for the price, no driveline vibs, no sags yet!!!
Cons: rear springs took longer than front to settle, minor driveline vibs with passengers in back. may need a sye later
Recommended? Yes

Comments: my dad, brother and i installed this kit on my yj a month ago. it was very simple to install. the stock springs on my yj were not sagged so i still had the 18" inches or so of stock height from rockers to leveled ground as i measured. finished the kit in 2days due to 1st time doing suspension work, alignment, and some rust issues. when it was done lifted it was around 6" inches lift. i have alittle over 500 miles on it along with the 33s. the front settled way faster than i expected. the rear didnt settle until i started putting weight in back. i measure over 22 1/2 height around from rockers to ground which doing the math puts it 4.5" of lift from stock. so far so great RC do need aftermarket flares soon though

Price: $450.00
Pros: Complete kits, comes with Tcase drop, pitman arm, shocks, everything you need.
Cons: I have not found any.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This kit has been on my YJ for two years now. I get out to rockcrawl several times a year and it has not had any problems.

My stock springs were old and flat so the RC kit had a better ride than the original springs. No noticable sag, all the parts have held up well.

Get the bolt kit they sell so you can replace all the old hardware.

Pros: looks sweet, flexes good, excellent for price
Cons: instructions
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Great lift kit for the price. Install went smooth once all the old rusty parts came off. The instructions were terrieble. If you dont know what you are doing have someone help you who does know what they are doing. I would also reccomend getting the spring bolt kit also because i had to torch all mine out. But all in all great kit for the money and no driveline issues wich is a major plus !

Pros: cheap!, somewhat easy to install
Cons: none so far!

Comments: It was affordable and esay to install! Great customer service from RC. Shipped to my house in about a week, and had all the parts included and ready to go. It came with a Transfer Case drop kit but I didn't install it and she's still running ok. All in all im very happy with it. It flexes better than I thought it would and makes my jeep look a lot better than it did stock.

Pros: price!
Cons: non so far

Comments: Installed myself and it was pretty easy...it would have been nice to have had air tools!! Took the full part of a day, but at least it was done! Came with everything I needed, upgraded the steering stabilizer and got the replacement U bolts and hardware for about 25 bucks extra "just in case" and ended up using them...
