BDS - 4.5" ZJ lift kit
Product Information
kit origonally came damaged via mail with the powder coat heavily chipped off control arms. Was difficult getting them to fix the problem. I've had the kit for 1.5 years and i'd give it a 7 out of 10.
Cons:
the quick discos in the kit have a plastic mouting clip that keeps breaking off along with the C-clip when vehical is not in alignment or when the suspension is flexing a lil (they've send me new parts for free). The kit offers a rear trac bar relocation bracket insted of a new adjustable one, (so i bought a custom rear trac bar from Rusty's). The ball joint on the frunt trac bar that mounts to the frame has worn out and can lead to stearing problems (currently lookin at JKS & Rusty's frunt trac bars, and JKS quick discos). And lastly be sure to purchase a bar pin eliminator kit for the frunt shocks, i got mine from Rusty's(This is not a knock against the kit but all ZJ shocks with bar pins).
Pros:
Good quality boushings, shocks and springs. Control arms are well built and the kit comes with adjustable uppers and fixed lowers. within 1,000 miles the lift will settle and since then the kit has kept its ride height. BDS recomends a 31" max tire but I can fit 32" with no real rubbin problems(only a lil on control arms when max out). kevlar stainless brake lines all around. The process is involved and can get frustraiting depending on how the removal of your old parts goes, but the instructions are excellent and the easy/fun part is puttin on the new stuff. The vehical handles very well(ity is a daily drtiver) on highway or anywhere. It is a nice stiff ride that i like. For a lift kit that does not involve new custom driveshafts, this kit gives you the most lift and quality that i've seen, (now i want more inches).
