Price: $56.00
Pros: Clean looking, rubber booting on all four. Easy Installation.
Cons: none so far.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Theyre decent shocks. In my opinion, better than stock. I only plan to put a 2 inch budget boost lift and bigger tires. So I think the Rancho5000 was a good idea and a fair price.

Cons: dont come as long travel

Comments: I really love these shocks. Partly because theyre cheap, and partly because the ride is so comfortable. Definitely an improvement over stock shocks

Price: $60.00
Pros: Seem to do good on and off road. Also sized to fit stock height and also allow some lift.
Cons: Not sure
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Nothing fancy but they seem to provide a good ride on the street and work well off road too. Climbing up steep mountain trails over softball to bowling ball sized gravel, they do a good job keeping all four tires in contact.

Pros: way better than my stock UP Country shocks that were totaly blown!
Cons: porbably wont last that long because they are already used
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I was given two free used rancho rs 5000s. They didnt take that long to install however i had a little trouble getting the passenger side shock to fit.
the part number was 5118 so i believe they are for a stock height ride.
There was an instantly noticeable difference in ride quality. much better!

Price: $179.00
Pros: Inexpensive. Much better than my 250,000 mile stock shocks, lol.
Cons: None.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: A lot of people complain that they're not gas shocks, but if they wanted gas shocks they should have got them! These are inexpensive shocks that do exactly what they're supposed to.

Pros: I've run these shocks since 1998, I did break 1 or 2 but Rancho honored their life time warranty, no hassle. Cheap
Cons: Can't think of any
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I've run these shocks since 1998, I did break 1 or 2 but Rancho honored their life time warranty, no hassle. Pretty solid shock for the money, but I will be upgrading to Bilstein 5100s when I lift the Jeep.

Pros: Great Shock, Very Smooth Ride.
Cons: Since they aren't pressurized shocks, there is alot of body roll while cornering.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I've had them on my WJ for about a month and they are very smooth riding shocks. They perform very well off-road. But when cornering, they have alot of body roll because they aren't pressurized shocks. I'd recremmend these shocks.

Pros: shiny, new shocks
Cons: they wont be white for long

Comments: These were a breeze to put on, didnt have to remove the tires. They are really firm but that was expected for offroad shocks.

Price: $54.00
Pros: cost
Cons: none for their use
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Great shocks for 1 or 2" of lift. Durable and reliable on the novice trails as well as having good road performance. I have jumped my Rs5000's and they recover quite well leaving minimal vehicle bounce. I have also recomended them and installed them on other light truck applications. My confidence in them is that I will use them in the future when I lift my Xj further. For the price I' m even checking out their lift kit!

Price: $52.00
Pros: Cheap, smooth in a straight line.
Cons: Not pressurized, so body roll was not controlled on a WJ.
Recommended? No

Comments: I said I wouldn't recommend them, but that's primarily for a ZJ/WJ. I initially thought they were ok but I was over them 9 months later, shelled out the money for Bilstiens, and finally got the ride I was looking for. The RS5000 isn't pressurized so it really did nothing for body roll in corners, and I very much wanted to have more stability. I still think it's a decent shock, but only if you have a stiffer suspension to compensate for them not being pressurized.

Price: $1.00
Pros: Decent shock
Cons: Cheapest Rancho available
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Installed by PO, and along with everything else, he went with the cheapest and most used parts available. The Ranchos are "ok", but the cheapest available, and infortunatley the PO took them off a ZJ in the JY. Thankfully, they are in good condition.
