Of the many factors OME considers when designing Nitrocharger shocks, valving is the most important. In fact, it`s the valving process that sets Nitrochargers apart. our OME engineers are specialists who do nothing but 4WD suspension.

Features that make the difference:

Tough urethane bushes for extended life
Steel stone guard provides maximum protection for the piston rod - where the design allows
Super strong 18mm chromed piston rod
Low pressure Nitrogen gas for optimum performance
Tough twin tube design with super strong 1.6mm thick reserve tube protects vital internal components
Supplementary top & bottom welds give added strength and safety

Pros: Very sturdy Good ride quality
Cons: Urethane bushings squeak
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Before adding the OME 2 inch spring lift, I had just recently replaced my stock shocks with Edelbrock IAS, so I can't help but compare them to the OME shocks.

I think the OME shocks are a bit stiffer than the Edelbrocks, probably because I have the heavy duty OME shocks. But the OME shocks are part of the full OME suspension system, and have the increased travel, so they are ultimately a better match. They seem to be built much sturdier than the Edelbrocks, too.

I would like to try a set of the OME comfort (N35C and N36C) shocks and see how they compare to my HD N35 and N36's.

Pros: Best ride
Cons: None

Comments: Excellent ride on a YJ. I don't know of another shock that will give a YJ a great ride like this. Yj basically does not have a suspension - very rough - but.. these smooth it quite a bit. I don't know why they don't make them longer to fit in 'really' lifted trucks.

Comments: These came as a part of my OME lift. After several trips to Moab and in the mountains of CO I think these give about the same ride that the JK OEM gas shocks that came stock. They seem well matched to the OME spring set and I have no complaints as of yet. About 10k miles as of this writeup.

Pros: None
Cons: Very rough & jarring ride
Recommended? No

Comments: These shocks suck! Very rough & jarring ride. Not even close to riding as good as stock... unless maybe you have old worn out stock shocks.

Here's what I'm comparing them to:
'05 Sport with stock suspension & 24k miles
'05 Sport w/ the Pro-Comp 2" spring lift & the ES3000 shocks
'06 Rubicon w/ stock suspension & 9.5k miles

DESCRIPTION: (from best to worse)
- The '05 Sport obviously rode the best and I was pretty impressed with it. Much better than any Mustang I've had.

- The '06 Rubi while it was still stock didn't ride quite as good, but it was acceptable. After all, it's a Jeep. This is how I expected a Jeep to ride.

- The OME shocks went on the Rubi with about 10k miles. They were used w/ stock springs and 2" spacers. The ride is only slightly better than the awful Pro Comp ES3000 shocks. And that's probably because I used the stock springs whereas the ES3000's used the stiff Pro Comp springs. I'm guessing if the same springs were used they'd ride just as bad as the ES3000's.

- The Pro Comp ES3000 shocks, as most everyone knows are some of the worst riding shocks on the market. Well, as I said, the OME's aren't much better.

I've been told it could be because the weight of my Jeep is basically stock so unless you are loaded down with a heavy front and rear bumper, winch, & a whole lot of cargo, I wouldn't recommend these shocks.

If you still think you want a set, send me a PM and you can take these off my hands cheap.

Comments: HUGE upgrade from the Procomp es3000 shocks. Ride is 100x better. I highly recommend them, they are a little pricey but they are well worth it and the street ride is so nice. Haven't used them off road yet but I'm sure they will perform.

Comments: Still a little new to tell. Was expecting better than OE ride, however the ride is a bit stuff. I expect this is due to the new RE springs and may soften after they wear in.

Comments: Definitely a softer shock absorber which is needed to smooth out the ride a tad on the jeep. Only have them in the front. I like the metal sleeve to protect the rod.

Great shock, improved the ride over my stock shocks. I like the fact that they have a cover over the rams to keep mud and stones out and away.
