Angled for a tight fit and structural rigidity, the Differential Skid Plate fits both high and standard pinion covers to give full protective coverage. Since it is a closed system, it slides over objects and won't snag or hang up. Made from 3/16" steel. Bblack powder coat.

Price: $99.00
Pros: Inexpensive Protection
Cons: Have to pull the 5 bottom bolts to the differential. Instructions say this should not break the seal. Both began to leak after installing had to remove both differential covers, clean, and reapply RTV.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Affordable Protection. Good Product for the daily driver/part time wheeler. I would have been more satisfied with the product if I did not have to re-apply RTV to keep the cover sealed. On the plus side my move to synthetic gear oil occured sooner.

Price: $75.00
Pros: Well built and very solid Built to slide past bolts
Cons: None so far
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I had nicked the front pumpkin one too many times. This sure takes care of the problem. I like it over some of the bar and cage units as it seems to be a true slider that does not get hung up on rock edges...beat it up, paint it, beat it up, paint it...etc.

Comments: It's okay, but I've managed to dent it, and I'm not even a hardcore wheeler. If you're doing a lot of rocks, get another type. For other types of wheeling including occasional rocky stuff, they'll do.

Pros: Solid protection
Cons: Socket or Allen head mounting hardware
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I found the socket heads bolts a pain to properly tighten. If you purchase this diff guard make sure to buy the proper allen size socket, so you can tighten to the correct torgue specs.

Pros: Ease of install, strength
Cons: collection of debris
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I shoved a large piece of Pike's Peak Granite into the diff with only a large scratch as evidence. To clean out the cover, use a sprinkler under the vehicle.

Pros: Protection and looks
Cons: mud and objects getting stuck in it.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Good quality guard. adds good protection and a good look. only bad thing is that mud and other things can get in it between the cover and can be a pain to get out. takes very little time to install!

Price: $65.00
Pros: Takes a beating
Cons: Mud and dirt can get stuck between the cover and the guard
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This is a quality skid that can take a beating and is good for the price, however mud and dirt tend to get stuck between the cover and the skid and its not easy to get the mud out. The install is a breeze.
