I commented in a thread a few months back that I had purchased this bumper and was eagerly awaiting delivery and it seemed although a lot of people had considered this bumper very few people had seen a detailed review. Now that I've run it for about five months I figured I would post a review.

The bumper ships in bare metal, not sure if they offer a coating option or not as I prefer to paint my armor for easier touch ups. If memory serves shipping weight was 76lbs.

I opted for the high lift mount and d-ring tabs which came at no additional cost, which I found pretty awesome. The high lift mount slides down into the top tube of the swingout, mounting horizontally unlike the angled pictures on the dirtworx website. I actually like this better because it makes a sort of accessory mount for additional items like a bike or cargo rack if I decide to build or adapt one in the future.

The latch is adjustable and works quite easily with one hand. It has a satisfying "snap close" similar to a pair of vise grips when it locks shut.

And now all mounted up. The channel the swingout rests in is also visible. I like this design for strength, but it should be noted that the paint is worn where the metal meets. However the swingout being firmly pressed against the channel keeps it from having much give at all and feels very secure when latched shut.

The final product with my 35x12.50 on 3.75" backspacing 8" wheel. Ultimately I am very pleased, I really like the look and build of the bumper. The swingout hugs the bumper very tightly and helps to mask the small gap created by my body lift. I have run it on everything from the highway to moderate speed bumpy dirt roads to the trail and have noticed zero noise (with the top and doors off), swaying, or give in the bumper at all. The bumper and tow hitch are tucked in nicely to the body so departure angle is relatively unchanged, if not improved over my last bumper. There is pretty much nothing I would change. It is worth noting the only thing I would add is a set of frame tie ins. The bumper uses all the existing mounts but if you plan on towing or yanking on it a set would be recommended. Robert at dirtworx was great to deal with and the price is great. I would much rather buy a great product being built by Americans in a small shop than an inferior imported product.
