Price: $350.00
Pros: Superior protection and BIG!
Cons:  Technique needed to get in!
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Super good product. Pro would be (as in the pics) Its big and away from the sides. This protects the sides from taking impact. The only con that I can find to gripe about is it takes some learning to get in. BUT! It's way better than getting those "Sliders". You need to hit the side frame to use those and at that point you damage the vehicle. Great usable product. I've actually used it and found it to work over well! It's high on the sides so you don't bottom out on them like other products.

Pros: Tough & Durable, the price was right, but there's a lot to choose from.
Cons: Install is tricky, make sure these are what you want, it's as easy to boat the sides while you're at it, so think about the future.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I have used and abused these sliders glad to have them I'm sure they've saved the body more than once.

Pros: Awesome finish, great packaging
Cons: none
Recommended? Yes

Comments: If you install them, just remember, you are about to drill the body of your jeep. In my jeep, when installed, it left a little separation body-rock slider that allowed water in. I strongly suggest to clean all, and spray with WD40, or a sealant, so it won't corrode within a few years. It's inevitable, but they did stand the 200LB test of me standing over them LOL

Pros: Solid Looks great
Cons: Difficult to install on front body mount
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Look great on and relatively easy to install. The front mount did not fit into the front body mounts flange and required some help from the jack to force it in enough to get the nuts back on the mount pins.
Other than the install they look great and I have already received many compliments.

Pros: Easy install and completes the look of my jeep.
Cons: Surface rust from the start :(
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I have all Smittybilt body armor and bumpers on my YJ. The look is great, but the armor rusts at the seams. I'm currently rustproofing everything as it shows up.

You get what you pay for... but, I love the overall look!

Pros: Good solid economically priced rocker protection
Cons: Doesn't run all the way to the frame throughout the whole slider, only the rear half does.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Install was easy, very nice fitting product, lined up perfectly with my smitty full corners, and had to trim a bit for the fitment to match my metalcloak fenders.

Pros: Easy install, heavy duty.
Cons: Step gets your pants dirty.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I've been very happy with my purchase of the XRC rocker guards. The install was easy. I bought them to cover up some rocker damage and prevent new damage. They're pretty heavy duty, 3/16" steel. I got free shipping from Amazon. The only problem is when I get out of the Jeep, especially now with the lift, my pants will get dirty. Not a huge problem, but it's my DD.

Comments: Took a little while to install the first, but second went right in with the experience gained from the first. Maybe did not need to cut down the body mount, but did it anyway. Excellent product for the money.

Pros: Read below
Cons: none really

Comments: This is the review for the Smittybilt rocker guards WITH the step up. I bought the set WITHOUT.

Install wasn't too bad. You have to lift the body off the frame to insert the bottom part of the rocker guards (loosen the opposing bolts and unbolt completely the side your installing the rocker on. They say to trim the body mounts to accommodate the guards but I just pushed them in and torqued everything back down (squashed the two body mounts) and it fits nice. I also found it UNNECESSARY to remove the rocker guards before drilling the holes on the body. Make sure the guards are pushed in snug between the body mounts and then use a floor jack to push the guards firmly up against the body. Then use the rocker guards as a template to drill and bolt them to the body. Much easier.

I chose the model WITHOUT the step for a couple reasons:

WITHOUT the step combined weight of the guards are 33 pounds, WITH the step they're 70 pounds... Double the weight..

Also, getting in and out of the jeep I thought it would be a pain having them get in the way. Plus I hear its not really useful as a step for entry being that its higher than the floor.. (maybe to get to the roof it would useful, which I just step on the body anyway when I open the door).

I dont plan on going anywhere where protruding boulders threaten the body of my jeep so that extra protection of the step I feel didn't need. Just all my opinion.. buy what you feel you need I guess..

They look great, and for the price can't be beat.

Price: $188.00
Pros: Cheap, solid, powder coated.
Cons: One side hole would have fit better if it was drilled 1.5" over.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: These are solid built, welds look good. Shipping weight was 72.1 Lbs. I got them from Streetsideauto.com and shipping was free for $188.
The rocker guards are out of 3/16" bent plate they attach underneath by the 2 rear body mounts. The instructions state to remove 3/16" off the body rubber or body lift. Most people never need to do this. The drill hole body hardware is all stainless steel. Washers are small, fender washers would have been a better solution. I plan to cut bar steel for a larger full length backing plate in the cab.

Price: $180.00
Pros: do not take away any ground clearance
Cons: installation, compared to factory side steps
Recommended? Yes

Comments: My 04 TJ X did not have any factory side steps on it when I got her. I shopped around and came across the Smittybilt XRC Armor Rock Sliders. I really liked the way the looked and found them less expensive than any other side step on line. The instructions were a little overwhelming at first. One website went as far to say that they did not even include instructions because the rock sliders should only be professionally installed. But I looked up a thread on Jeep Forum and found a much easier way to install them. Did it in an open garage, in the middle of February, in Columbus Ohio, high of 30 degrees. I over analyzed every part of the installation and it took me around 4+ hours. But if everything I needed was laid out to use, then I could install them in about an hour. You can do it.
