The Jeep TJ's coil suspension is wonderful, but it leaves the steering box very vulnerable to rocks. Our TJ steering box skid plate bolts on easily and only requires the drilling of one hole. Constructed of 3/16" thick steel, they fit well and provide serious protection for your vulnerable steering box....
and now they include our logo on the side!

Comments: For under $50 dollars you really can't afford not to intall a steering box skid plate. The skid row bolts up easily and is built very well. I have hit it just a couple times but it held up fine.

Comments: Not three days after I installed this, I went wheelin'. Ended up sliding my front end off a rock and landing with the entire weight of the Jeep on this skid (about 1 foot drop). I then ended up having having to back up, sliding the skid across the top of the jagged rock, sliding across the bumper, and then setting the tires back on the ground.
And the skid held up just fine. Scratched paint is all.

Comments: This skid plate wasn't really up on top of my list of skid protection but I purchased one because it was fairly inexpensive. The skid is very durable and seems like it will take the hits like a champ (didn't get caught into an obstacle yet to test it out).
For how cheap it is for a steering box skid, it is worth it to pick one up, even tough you may never get a hit on your box, it is nice to know you have something to protect it just in case.
