The Rusty's Crossmember is a direct replacement for those that have been beat and banged on rocks and stumps. Made of 3/16 steel, pre-drilled for easier installation of our engine - trans skid and our TC skid. It is also available with a 1 inch drop model for better driveline angles without loosing any ground clearance. If used in conjunction with our engine skid plate, new holes will need to be drilled. There is no change on the catalytic converter attachment and we actually recommend cutting that off. Black powder coated for durability.

Pros: no loss ground clearance, good budget alternative
Cons: it not a SYE
Recommended? Yes

Comments: little bit more expensive than a spacer drop kit but no lost ground clearance and not relying on spacers is worth the little extra. good alternative for those of us on a budget.

Pros: beefy, no loss of ground clearance
Cons: wanting to raise my transfer case back up, debating how to go about doing that.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: beefy, easy install, much better than stock. no loss of ground clearance.

I am now debating how to raise my transfer case back up without having to get a new crossmember. I'm thinking a taller isolator, or somehow modifying it to be higher up.

Pros: No loss of ground clearance, uses factory hardware, 3/16 steel, easy install, they send you everything you need, including modified transmission mount.
Cons: power coated so you can't do your own finish on it, uses modified transmission mount, stock mount will not work, doesn't hold up to rocks, transfer case sits lower, might not work with your T-case skid.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: SYE would be better but this is a good budget alternative to dropping your cross member using washers or drop blocks. You don't lose any ground clearance over the factory unit. Install is easy, I did it by myself in about 1.5 hours.

Although... It doesn't hold up to rocks very well.
