ROKMEN TJ/LJ Steering Skid Plate

The steering box on TJ and LJ model Jeeps® hangs below the front bumper and is a magnet for rocks and other debris encountered on the trail. The ROKMEN Steering Skid plate protects the vulnerable steering box, giving you more confidence to tackle the tough trails.

Unique mounting allows the skid to mount closer to the outside of the frame rail; therefore not causing interference with torsion style swaybars. The ROKMEN skid is a full 1 1/2" wider than the competition's steering skids to give your steering box more protection. Constructed of 3/16" steel that is fully TIG welded for superior toughness and great fit and finish.

* Protects the vulnerable steering box on TJ/LJ Jeeps®
* Unique mounting will not cause interference with torsion style swaybars
* Constructed of 3/16" steel for superior toughness
* 1 1/2' Wider than the competition's steering skids for more steering box protection
* Includes mounting hardware and comes in either bare steel or black powdercoat

NOTES:
- ROKMEN steering skid is for use with 97-06' TJ/LJ model Jeeps® only
- Will not cause interference with torsion style swaybars

Cons: none

Comments: What is there to say, I got this for a great price and the install was super easy and now I don't even have to think about breaking my steering box. Great product that has held up well for 3 years, highly recommended.

Price: $50.00
Pros: Easy to install, seems very strong, good power coat, multiple attachment points for added strength, works with Anti-Rock
Cons: None so far
Recommended? Yes

Comments: So far it's been a great skid; I've hit it several times with no ill-effects minus a little lost powder coat. I actually ordered it in bare steel to save a few bucks (and since it will see plenty of rocks anyways), but I actually received a power coated skid instead. It was a nice surprise; not sure if it was an accident or if they just sent what was available. Either way, I'm very happy with it. It seems very stout, has enough attachment points so that it doesn't flex when hit, and it doesn't interfere with the Anti-Rock sway bar.

Overall I'm very happy with it, no complaints whatsoever.

Pros: Its Rokmen, everything they build is near indestructable!
Cons: None
Recommended? Yes

Comments: From the first time I purchased a Rokmen product, I was hooked. Dave and Jeff build the most beefy yet fairly priced stuff I have ever seen. Instructions are excellent. Steering Skid went on in 15 minutes. Fits great, looks great, and it will last me a lifetime. Made in the USA!

Price: $50.00
Pros: It fits w/o modification on the ARB Bumper, powder coat was a $5 option +1 :D
Cons: It didn't come install from the factory
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Can't remember the price paid, I got it on a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale.

Its tough, does what its supposed to, the powder coat is nice and priced well. Install is simple enough, it comes with all the hardware needed to mount where current hardware is not reused.

Price: $50.00
Pros: Easy install and peace of mind
Cons: Rust! if you only get the reg finish it rusts over in a matter of months. Should have got the black powder coating.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Great protection for the steering box and easy installation makes this a great mod. My only negative is the metal finish rusts over.
