Rokmen Steering Box Skid Plate

http://www.rokmen.com/products/tj_lj_bumpers/steering_box_skid/steering_box_skid.html

ROKMEN TJ/LJ Steering Skid Plate

The steering box on TJ and LJ model JeepsŪ hangs below the front bumper and is a magnet for rocks and other debris encountered on the trail. The ROKMEN Steering Skid plate protects the vulnerable steering box, giving you more confidence to tackle the tough trails.

Unique mounting allows the skid to mount closer to the outside of the frame rail; therefore not causing interference with torsion style swaybars. The ROKMEN skid is a full 1 1/2" wider than the competition's steering skids to give your steering box more protection. Constructed of 3/16" steel that is fully TIG welded for superior toughness and great fit and finish.

* Protects the vulnerable steering box on TJ/LJ JeepsŪ
* Unique mounting will not cause interference with torsion style swaybars
* Constructed of 3/16" steel for superior toughness
* 1 1/2' Wider than the competition's steering skids for more steering box protection
* Includes mounting hardware and comes in either bare steel or black powdercoat

NOTES:
- ROKMEN steering skid is for use with 97-06' TJ/LJ model JeepsŪ only
- Will not cause interference with torsion style swaybars

Rokmen Steering Box Skid Plate

I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but after just feeling the weight and seeing the quality of the welds, i'm convinced i no longer have to worry about breaking open my steering box on the trail. install was quick and easy, and the instructions were to the point and easy to follow. The skid came with all necessary hardware and was at my door a few days after ordering it directly from rokmen

great price too, highly recommended

This skid is wider than some, great price and made by craftsmen in a small shop, not in large Chinese factory.

BEEFY! Wish I didn't have to drill any holes. The skid is very well made and the welds are perfect.

A steering skid is a steering skid. They're all pretty much the same. This one was the cheapest, and it has the Rokmen name behind it.

There's not much to say about a steering box skid, but this is a great skid. I really like having the option of having the four mounting points on the skid. One on the steering box bracket, two on the bumper, and one on the frame cross member.

A very sturdy skid for a very vulnerable area. One of the easiest and cheapest upgrades you can make to make sure you get home at the end of a day wheeling. Excellent instructions w/ pics from Rokmen.

Fits very well even with an aftermarket bumper. Handles anything I can throw at it.

I painted about 3 coats of rustoleum primer and two coats of flat black paint after roughing the stainless up with a piece of steel wool and pouring 91% rubbing alcohol to clean the surface off first. Install went really well took about 20 minutes including the drilling. I think Rokmen dismantled a safe to make this product! Thick and sturdy i don't think I'm ever going to have a problem with my steering box from an outside assault!
