Price: $25.00
Pros: Easy to find at junkyards. It's OEM...fits right in, doesn't inhibit clearance.
Cons: The apostrophes are misplaced in pro(')s and con(')s.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: It's what would be on your WJ if so equipped. It'll protect your TC from pissing on the trail because some rock stabs into it, but it's not a stand-alone belly protector.

Price: $250.00
Pros: Too Many to list
Cons: None
Recommended? Yes

Comments: ANY off-road driving REQUIRES a skid plate for the front axle, AW4 Transmission & the Transfer case ... unless you like to spend money replacing or repairing these OEM units due to negligence or just plane having fun off-road!

Price: $15.00
Pros: Peace of mind
Cons: Can be a pain to install the nut-serts with out the tool
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Was quick to install... after nut-serts. Just make sure you put a little lok-tite on them, just to be sure.

Pros: Better than nothing
Cons: Not very thick but not bad for OE
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Picked up from JY, wasn't charged for it as it wasn't in their system. Good for mild offroading

Price: $60.00
Pros: Cheep and Easy to Install
Cons: Not as sturdy as other more expensive skid plates
Recommended? Yes

Comments: My Jeep is currently my daily driver, so I don't try to push the limits too far. So given that, This plate is perfect because it is cheep insurance that if I do hit a hidden rock, I will have a little more protection. I wouldn't recommend it if you are planning on hitting a lot of rocks on a regular basis.

Price: $50.00
Pros: Work's great for light to mild offroading, perfect for my application.
Cons: Nutserts are a PITA to install in the frame rail
Recommended? Yes

Comments: The only bad part of this process is installing the nutserts in the frame rail. One of mine didn't latch correctly, so I currently have just three bolts holding the skid on. I'm at stock height and hit the crossmember on just about everything... so this is just what I need. I haven't tried it out yet but this thing is pretty beefy for OEM. Great for light/medium offroading.

EDIT: I've taken my Jeep through our farm, through creeks, other farms, and also to Gulches Offroad Park. This thing has worked phenomenally. I've pushed through dirt with it, hung it up on rocks, dropped down on rocks, pretty much anything that got hung up on my jeep, gets hung up on the transfer case, being pretty much the lowest part. It's held up great so far, the only reason you would need an IRO skid is if you plan on rock jumping or balancing the entire weight of the Jeep on your TC skid...

Price: $50.00
Pros: Protects the transfer case. Affordable
Cons: Not very thick.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: It is pretty decent for the most part and it is good to know that my T-case is now someone what protected. Could be a bit more beefy.

Price: $55.00
Pros: Easy to install, better than not having a skid.
Cons: Lighter weight than aftermarket skids.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Price vs. protection, I think this is about the best value going. Obviously not for serious rock crawling, but for an occaisional off road jaunt, it will work.

Pros: Great for the price!
Cons: None yet.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I haven't truely put it to the test yet but it's beefier than I expected for a factory part. Looks like it would hold up to some hard hits. At least it will take a few blows before your TC.

Mopar WJ Transfer Case Skid Plate
Price: $70.00
Recommended? Yes

Comments: A decent factory skid plate that does its job. I've come down on the Mopar skid fairly hard and it held up fine. Plus its a good skid for the price. Got it from the dealership and it came with all the necessary hardware, nutserts and nutsert tool.

Comments: This is a good skid plate for the occasional off-roader that will take a hit or two it is definitely not for hardcore wheeling (I messed my original one up pretty bad going way beyond my cars limit)
