with mountains of low end torque I was hitting fourth gear on side roads but being passed by garbage trucks and preus's on the highway. so I traded some torque for top end speed and 1500 more functional rpm. now I can pass cars with 35" tires and flow down the left side with the yuppies and their pretty suv's. I love this cam. no complaints from the computer at all, not one. idle, smooth as butter and vacuum the same as far as I can tell. I couldn't find a single example on line, of anyone putting this cam in their 4.0 so here is one. one note, It wouldn't start after the swap, timing problem. after three days of whipping wrenches and cussing it out, I ended up removing the outside casting finger (of the two fingers that surround the distributer retaining bolt to keep it from turning) and turning the distributer counter clockwise about 4 degrees like the old days. I know what you're thinking but there is no sign of complaint or complication from the computer at all. nothing, she runs perfect so don't be afraid (you can always put it back where it was). she came singing to life and the power distribution this cam gives is something dreams are made of. oh, you'll need new valve springs for this cam but big deal, it's so worth it I want to hug my engine.
