The Generation II FIPKŪ is K&N's ultimate performance product, designed to increase power by as much as 10%. Most FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with a Million Mile Limited Warranty. K&N intake systems replace your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your vehicle's engine to inhale a larger volume of air than the OEM air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The filters on these kits are washable and reusable.
Comments: Im sure if you found this unit for less than I paid it would be a better deal.
As with all K&N intakes I've dealt with, removing the stock air filter and assembly is more time consuming than installing the K&N kit. Installation instructions are simple, and have pictures, should you require them. Everything is bolt on and thus can easily be returned to stock if you were selling the vehicle. I have mine on a 02 WJ Grand Cherokee 4.0L
I have yet to take another long highway trip to see if fuel economy has improved.
Minor acceleration increase noted.
Price: $125.00 Pros: I don't know about hp but throttle response is better and I like the sound Cons: I keep hearing about how bad oiled filters are but I was always happy with it. Have to worry some about water fording. Recommended? Yes
Comments: Sounds better and thortlle response is good.
Price: $200.00 Pros: Extra room in the engine bay
-future washer fluid relocation
Nicer throttle sound and response Cons: Not a huge performance increase Recommended? Yes
Comments: Not a noticeable increase in performance but a nicer sound on acceleration and a slight increase in throttle response. The biggest benefit is the extra room in the engine bay for future additions and relocation of washer fluid.
