great find, you could eat off that enigine! good score on that D44 too
![]() If it were me, i'd remove those side steps.. fender flares look good, so no need to paint those. any thoughts on a lift/bigger tires down the road in addition to your wish list (after the new BFG wear)?

Very nice find! D44 is really nice to have along with that engine that is showroom clean. Definatley remove those side steps. You get more ground clearance under your rockers.

NICE rig! That does NOT look like a Michigan Jeep! It's way to clean! If your wife doesn't already love it, she'll come around this spring when the top comes off.

Well, been 2 weeks and wanted to show off a few updates to the Jeep.
Started by painting the bezels, installed fog light guards, and removed the milk jugs: ![]() Then I organized the tailgate: ![]() And cleaned her up: ![]() In process of ordering a Ground Pounder rear bumper, and IPF headlights w/ Fatboys, a new recovery strap, and D-Links.

x4 and I live right by you and also have a 2002.
Your engine looks reeeeally clean. It makes me want to clean mine good in the summer. I like the flag but everyone always gets the other side wrong. The flag should be reversed on the other side as if it is blowing towards the back while you are driving. Pet peeve of mine. Nice jeep, welcome. Also, what spray paint did u use for the headlight bezels? Was it color-matched or generic yellow? Last edited by vtx531; 01-23-2009 at 09:44 PM.. |

Well, it's from a company called Springtail Solutions:
http://springtailsolutions.com/ The system is called the MPAC Rack: From their website: "Here is our exclusive rigid grid system for the Jeep TJ, it mounts to the back door and measures 20.5 inches. Plenty of room for a couple Modular pouches, bags or packs. It fits nicely on the back door and holds a suprising amount. Don't worry about putting the top down either as it and the bags slip nicely under the collapsed top (see additional photos link). The rack is constructed out of sturdy 16 gauge aluminium that has been cut using state of the art laser technology. It features expertly welded and polished corners with a durable black powdercoating. We have designed it to accept most MOLLE style pouches although in the future we will be designing other accessories ranging from axe/shovel mounts to tactical rifle and pistol cases. Measures 30.5cm H x 52cm W x 2.5cm D" It's not a cheap system, but what I do like is the ability to customize it for whatever I'm doing with the Jeep. I actually found it in JF's Vendor Section. To vtx531: I'm with you on the flags. As for the bezels paint, I went to the local dealer and they pulled the paint code from my vin # in order to get me the right color. It was $10/ spray can.

Oh, nice. I was looking online and they go for about $25. I didn't think the dealer would be cheaper.

Ground Pounder Fab Bumper Installed
Spent the last couple of weeks preping and finally installing my new Ground Pounder Fab Bumper (once the weather got over 30F):
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Since then I gave her a tune-up (new plugs, IAC, TPS, cleaned the TB, and a new air-filter) - She runs like a champ now. Also picked-up a '05 OEM soft-top with tinted windows and a set of OEM door surrounds. Now if the weather could just turn for the better.
