Hi folks

some update frome today.

Installed the bumpers.

Was not so easy to get these fu.... pieces into the right position

Gasoline tank is in place:

I was tired working in all the dirt and rust on the floor. So I decided to clean the garage. Since I have a rolling chassis it's easy

Looks good:

Added some parts to the motor:

And finally the rear kardan with new u-joints

That's all for today.

Greets from Germany

It's a pity that it is only a 4 banger. But I saved him from the junk yard.

Reserved at my Jeep dealer a 79 CJ7 with original 304 V8. But unfortunately the hall where the Jeep was stored, cracked under the load of snow . The CJ is still in the ruins. Don't know what exactly happened to the Jeep, hope he will salvageable .

Keep u updated

Hi,

Saturday is "Jeep-Day"

Short Update:

Front drive shaft with new u-jounts is installed.

Gear absorber installed. Unfortunarely I forgot to intall beforehand. Lifted a little bit the gearbox with a jack to get it in place.

And some crazy work cleaned and painted the exhaust and catalyzer. I know it will not last for a long time, but I didn't want to have any rusty parts on the Jeep

Have a great weekend

Hi,

got some new parts and couldn't resist to install.

I'm very curious which sound the Raptor will generate with the 4 banger

Cheers from cold Germany

Hi,

did some body work today.

Started with cleaning the bottom:

Horrible looking:

Sand blasted the floor and started to cut the demaged parts:

Cheers

I know you have the 4cyl but they look similar to the YJ 258, they look so much better that the early model 258 and I prefer the serpentine belt...

Thanks for the compliment I try to do my very best. I have never done something like this before and I'm a total layperson.
But we (my son and me ) learnt a lot meanwhile and it is really a fun to do the rebuild.

Because I have bought all the tools, welder etc. we are planning to do a 2nd restoration. I have reserved a 79 CJ7 with 304 V8 at my dealer. If this will be the next restoration, it will become a "Silver Anniversary" style. Don't know if there ever was a CJ7 "Silver Anniversary" (saw just CJ5 yet), but I like the build of CJ579. It's a great looking Jeep . It's a pitty that he has to sell it

Cheers from germany

Hi,

did some work on the body:

This is how the rear looked like :

And this is behind:

The nuts of the body bolts "disappeared" in the body, so I have to cut:

But drawing of a template first:

Found the nuts

The broken pieces ....

And some cuts to install the CJ tail hinges:

Cheers
