So true. Make my $100 payment and put $300 back on it.

Black Magic pads, Centric rotors and calipers ordered

Anyone gut their proportioning valve after installing their 8.8? Or install one from a ZJ with rear discs?

who makes the transmission mount back on page 2 or 3 ? DOes it bolt directly to the cross member? Do you need a torque arm or is that it ?

I used the Advance Adapters transmission mount. It bolts to the skid from underneath instead of using studs. Nope, no torque arm.

I like that mount, I used the one from Novak which uses the original torque arm and the entire stack is pretty darn tall. On the std skid it pushes the 4l60 trans right against the tub, I bet with that mount I can get at least a 1.5" tuck when we build the new skid plate. Your jeep build is awesome.

Haha thanks man. Nowhere as clean or detailed as yours but I got dirty and got it done.

Yeah the AA mount is pretty low pro. I installed my 8.8 with my pinion angle set with my stock skid and stock trans mount. When I did the 5.3/4l60e the new mount landed on the 1" tall channel and the pinion angle was still high enough to give me vibes under throttle. A 1" skid would probably work perfectly but the 2" will do.

Here are some pics I took for Sparrows of my trans tunnel. Quite a bit of room still with no body lift.

I may try the 1" skid plate then with the AA mount, assuming that mount will work with my Novak adapt, it looks like it uses the studs that hold the adpt on the transmission so I assume it will work

Do you have all that room because of the new transmission on the back of your under hood beast? And did you have to do anything special after the swap to get it through emissions?

3 link-44 FW front w/ spool, 4 link 14 bolt rear w/spool. 16" FOA Coilovers, Barnes Enduro Joints, Daves custom boat sides/rear armor.

I think the short trans mount helps a lot. I saw your post in Sparrows thread, no I dont have emissions. Do you Scott? From what I have heard, if the engine is the same year or newer than your Jeep, and you retain all factory emissions equipment, you should be fine.

Yeah I have emissions. And a guy with a CJ-8 failed because he didn't have the paperwork or something

Could make a call to them and see what the requirements are. Maybe you just need the VIN from the donor.

If you did that wouldn't you have to re register your jeep under that vin?

I have never had to screw with emissions so I may be talking out of my *** here, but I just mentioned the donor VIN so they have verification of the engine and necessary emissions equipment. The VIN is attached to the chassis so an engine swap wouldnt change the VIN.

In other news, I just ordered a Prothane body mount bushing kit. I heavily debated on doing a body lift to make room for other things (flat belly, rear upper links) but my 35s already look a little small and I don't want to be any taller right now. I'm mainly looking to get rid of chassis noises and vibes. My stock rubber mounts are beat down.
