I agree with that. I personally ran a 1997 5.7 until about 245k when the head gasket blew. I have no doubts about the reliability of this engine, and it will only see a few thousand miles a year. It would be nice to do a rebuild in an afternoon though

If you keep the drivetrain and part the rest out you could come out looking pretty good financially. Ive recouped what I paid for the truck ($1600) and im sure ill make another $500-$1000 before its down to the frame. And you would have more parts to sell if all the body is good. Parting something out is a lot of work though, and dealing with 'tards on Craigslist. Ill post as many pics as I can. They are all from my phone.

Half of the calls I get on the truck are for the motor. Read the first sentence on the add!

Let me get this straight. You used the stock GM auto with an Advanced Adapter to the stock np231?

Yes sir. Expensive but easy and straight forward solution to connect the t case and handle the VSS

Do you know the differences between the 2wd and 4wd 4l60e output shaft lengths? Figured i Can I cut the output shaft down if necessary?

I decided that I'm doing the VSS mod to the trans adapter housing like the guy on pirate did. Going to order all the little pieces ( clamp on reluctor, mounting pieces etc) from AA except their 153$ VSS sensor.... eBay $25 just saying. So it's Chevy VSS in trans adapter and jeep VSS to jeep ecu.

Seriously though....Would like to get the dam thing out of the bed of my truck!

Have to go back to JY and get the intake hoses and MAF off the donor truck.

RE... How much you want for that 4wd adapter you have?

I've never been poor, only broke. Poor is a state of mind. Broke is a condition brought on by Jeep ownership and a heavy right foot.

I have no idea on the differences man. Ill try to ask my GM guy. The VSS sensor they sent me was a Napa part. Ill try to remember to get thet part number to you if you need it. if you sent me $20 im sure I could ship that adapter to you for that much. I think it will fit? Ill post the number that is stamped on it when I get to my garage tonight.

No, you have to swap the shafts. You would be time ahead to just sell your transmission and buy another 4wd one.

I got the new 4.0 pump and sending unit installed and hooked up my power steering lines and the steering shaft. It all clears pretty well. The Jeep lines fit right on the GM pump.

I started working on my t case shifter and found out as per AAs instructions that i need to trim their transmission mount.

Here are some pics of that adapter Panda!
